    Halong Bay Cruise

My friends and I booked a tour with David Nguyen. The booking process was easy, and the tour description was very detailed. David stayed in close contact with us throughout, which we appreciated. Although David was not the actual tour operator, his team arranged pickup for us inside our cruise terminal in a very comfortable, high-end van. Unfortunately, it was a very rainy day, and the port authority did not allow tourist boats to depart until conditions improved. To pass the time, we visited a local workshop where we got a demonstration of how pearls are made. We waited to see if the weather would clear, but when it didn’t, we decided to return to our cruise ship. While disappointed due to the weather disruption, the company issued a full refund without hesitation. David clearly stands behind his service, and I would recommend booking with him. He comes across as honest and reliable, and based on the quality of the pickup and coordination, I have no doubt the cruise experience itself would have been excellent.

Response from the operator: Dear Andrea Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. While I am truly sorry that the heavy rain and port restrictions prevented us from seting sail, your safety is always our top priority. I am glad to hear that you found the booking process and our communication helpful. We strive to provide reliable service even when the weather doesn't cooperate, and I appreciate your understanding regarding the refund. It was a pleasure coordinating for your group, and I hope we have the chance to welcome you back to Vietnam in the future for the full Halong Bay experience under sunnier skies! Best regards, David Nguyen

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed our tour and that our guide provided you with an insightful look into Vietnam’s history. It is always a pleasure to introduce our guests to authentic local flavors, and I am glad you enjoyed the lunch selection. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another adventure in the future! Best regards, David Nguyen

    Vietnam. Exceptional Tours, Exceptional Country

We had a wonderful experience working with David Nguyen. He is a very good guide but even more importantly he has arranged our tours in Cam Ranh Da Nang and Ha Long Bay. The communication with him is exceptional, thorough and timely. Our group felt that the experiences were definitely "Top Notch" especially Ha Long Bay. I would highly recommend David to anyone who is planning a trip to Vietnam or other Far East countries.

Response from the operator: Dear Karen Bruder, Thank you so much for your kind words! It was an absolute pleasure helping you explore Cam Ranh, Da Nang, and the stunning Ha Long Bay. I’m thrilled to hear that the communication and arrangements met your expectations. Creating "top-notch" memories for travelers like your group is exactly why I love what I do. I hope to welcome you back to Vietnam or perhaps another corner of the Far East soon! Best regards, David Nguyen

Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hue.

How much does Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port cost?

    +

Prices start at $600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hue usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hue is not rushed.

Is Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hue, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hue can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hue and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Da Nang and Hoi An Shore Excursions from Chan May Port start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hue within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hue?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hue experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hue: Imperial City Walk, Motorbike Tour & Private Car Options, Hue city Deluxe Group Tour (Daily Tour-12 pax max), Hai Van Pass Motorbike Private Tour with Mister T Easy Rider. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hue?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hue?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
