A short drive from the waterfalls brings us to the charming mountain town of Brevard. Here, you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at one of the town’s excellent local restaurants and explore its unique shops, bakeries, coffee spots, art galleries, and museum. I’ll share local insights and recommend favorite establishments, then give you the space to explore at your own pace, while always being available if you’d like guidance or assistance. As we leave Brevard we will stop by Brevard College to see if we can spot any of the local white squirrels.

Our final destination is Hendersonville, home to the second largest downtown in western North Carolina, right after Asheville. This vibrant area is brimming with activities, sights, and flavors to enjoy. Stroll along the beautifully landscaped Main Street, with over 100 shops and 25 restaurants, you'll find a delightful mix of locally-owned, high-quality stores and galleries to explore. In addition to the vibrant downtown scene, Hendersonville offers several free museums. Just outside the downtown area, you’ll find a variety of attractions, including charming orchards, scenic farms, delightful wineries, and local breweries. Best Way to See and Enjoy Asheville and the Surrounding Area!
We travel quite a bit and usually use a private tour. Obviously this approach is more expensive but we get to tailor our day and schedule. One concern with this approach is the guide and their personality and relationship since we are with these persons for 7-8 hrs per tour day. From the very initial contact with Jacque we felt comfortable with her approach and by the time we had finished the day we felt even more definite we had made a great decision. The day was totally at our discretion with excellent recommendations which helped us decide on what we wanted to see and do. One final comment, since we have used private tours a number of times before we were very excited and pleased with the cost for the day. I can't recommend highly enough Outta Asheville and Jacque Dundas if you are in the Asheville area and want to enjoy the great things to see and do in Asheville and the surrounding area.
Response from the operator: It truly means a lot to me that you took the time to share this. I'm honored that you felt you made the right choice and that my recommendations were helpful in creating a day that was special for the two of you. It was a pleasure getting to know both of you and I hope your travels bring you back to the mountains soon!

Memorable Couple's Vacation
We recently had the pleasure of taking a day trip tour with Jaque, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Our communication began about two months before the trip. During our initial conversations, Jaque asked thoughtful questions about what we wanted from the experience. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, we explained that we were hoping for a reconnection-themed getaway focused on waterfalls, nature trails, and quality time together. Jaque took the time to learn about our dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring that gluten-free and nut-free options would be available throughout the day. She also researched restaurants that could accommodate our needs and even made the reservations for us once we selected our destination. Leading up to the trip, Jaque maintained excellent communication through emails, carefully reviewing the itinerary with us and making adjustments as needed. She also checked in via text message the day before and even the day after. We are already looking to plan another visit to Asheville and will absolutely book her services again.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review! I'm so happy that you had a great experience and it was a fun trip to plan and you are definitely a couple worth celebrating! I hope to see you again soon!

5 Stars! ⭐️
If I could give this tour more than five stars, I absolutely would! From the very beginning, the communication was exceptional. Before we even arrived, our guide reached out with wonderful suggestions and ideas that helped us make the most of our visit, and every question was answered promptly and thoughtfully. The tour itself was beyond anything we could have imagined. We traveled along the breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway, explored the beauty of Pisgah Forest, visited charming Brevard, enjoyed a delicious lunch, browsed unique local boutiques, spotted the famous white squirrels, wandered through the quaint shops in Flat Rock and Hendersonville, and finished the day with a relaxing wine tasting at a beautiful winery. What truly made this experience unforgettable was our guide. Jacquewent above and beyond to tailor the day to our interests, needs, and physical abilities, making sure everyone was comfortable while still experiencing incredible waterfalls, scenic overlooks, and stunning mountain views that were unlike anything we see at home. Every stop felt thoughtfully planned, and we never felt rushed. This wasn’t just a tour—it was an unforgettable experience filled with spectacular scenery, hidden gems, local charm, and genuine hospitality. If you’re visiting the Asheville area and want a personalized, stress-free day with an outstanding guide who truly cares about your experience, don’t hesitate to book this tour with Jacque! It was the highlight of our trip, and we would recommend it to anyone without hesitation!
Response from the operator: Reading your review brought me right back to our day together. I loved getting to share some of my favorite places with all of you, and seeing how much you enjoyed each stop made it even more rewarding. Thank you for trusting me with part of your Asheville visit and for taking the time to share your experience. I hope the memories of the Parkway, waterfalls, white squirrels, and that winery stay with you for a long time, and I'd love to see you back in the mountains soon. There's so much more to see :)

Beyond 5-star experience!
My friends and I decided to visit Asheville for the very first time and we did not want to rent a car. We looked for different tour options, and we chanced upon this "Customizable Private Day Trips our of Asheville" in Viator. At first, we liked it because it was private, and we did not have to be with a group of strangers. We liked the idea that we could customize the tour based on our preferences. However, as we planned the trip, we were just amazed on how it evolved and exceeded our expectations! Jacque, the owner, was a treasure of information on the countless places we can visit. She answered all our pre-trip questions in a very timely manner and made sure that we were happy with our choices. Jacque showed up on time with a big smile and a shared excitement for the day. And yes, her car was very clean and comfortable! She was very thorough in giving information, history, and insights on the many places of interests during our tour. Her planning was perfect, and she was proactive in anticipating our needs. For the entire day, it felt like traveling the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway, Brevard, and Hendersonville with another friend. She was very cordial, a pleasure to be with, and eager to make the experience fun and memorable. At the end of the day, our hearts were full, touched by both the breathtaking beauty of Asheville, and the blessing of having such a hospitable, knowledgeable, and professional guide. If you are considering a visit to Asheville, look no further. This was the best decision and frankly, the best part of our Asheville trip. Thank you so much, Jacque! You made our visit truly unforgettable!
Response from the operator: It is wonderful to hear that you were all so happy with your day trip and I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me such a thorough review! I hope to welcome you back to the area again soon. There is so much more to see :)

Exceptional tour in Ashville.
The tour was exceptional and Jacque our tour guide was fantastic. She took her time as we toured the different areas. I would seriously recommend taking this tour. My husband and I would have never been able to see all that we did without the tour. Well worth the money and day.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm delighted that you found it worth your time and money. I am thankful that we had such a beautiful day and that the wildlife was so cooperative! I hope the rest of your trip was amazing.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Asheville.
How much does Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville cost?
+
Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Asheville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Asheville is not rushed.
Is Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Asheville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Asheville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Asheville and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Customizable Private Day Trips out of Asheville start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Asheville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Asheville?
+
Asheville pairs Biltmore Estate visits with Blue Ridge Parkway waterfall tours, brewery crawls through one of the densest beer scenes in America, and guided hikes in Pisgah. Biltmore ticket handling and parkway route detail are what to check. On Outty we rank every Asheville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Blue Ridge Parkway and Waterfall Hiking Tour from Asheville, Asheville Historic Downtown Guided Electric Bike Tour with Scenic Views, Gem Mining and Goat Farm Walking Tour in Hendersonville. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Asheville?
+
April to June and October for autumn colour. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Asheville?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
