Best tour of Ho Chi Min and Mekong Delta

Andy did an outstanding job organizing not just this tour, but several others for us. I initially reached out to him for a night tour in Hoi An, and then asked if he could expand the itinerary to include additional destinations. We also specifically requested authentic, local dining experiences rather than tourist-heavy spots—and Andy delivered perfectly. In Da Nang, he paired us with Ms. Dan as our guide. She was warm, knowledgeable, and fluent in English. She took us to incredible local restaurants filled with residents, managed our schedule seamlessly, and made sure we experienced everything we wanted without ever feeling rushed. What really stood out, though, was how Andy handled our time in Ho Chi Minh City. We had an ambitious plan—trying to fit in a city tour, the Mekong Delta, Can Tho, and even the floating markets within a tight schedule. Despite the complexity (and during the New Year holiday), Andy executed everything flawlessly. We were picked up at the airport and taken on a half-day city tour before heading to Can Tho for an overnight stay. Early the next morning, we visited the floating markets and explored the Mekong Delta before returning to Ho Chi Minh City to continue touring and end at our hotel. We ended up skipping the Cu Chi tunnels due to heavy holiday traffic, based on our guide Mr. Phong (Felix)’s recommendation—and it was absolutely the right call. Felix was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable, flexible, and accommodating as we adjusted plans along the way. (And definitely ask him to take you to the best bánh mì spot in town—it’s worth it!) Everything—from the comfortable limo van to the precise coordination—ran incredibly smoothly. Because of how seamless everything was, we also booked a Siem Reap tour to visit Angkor Wat, including airport transfers. Our guide there was phenomenal—other guides even told us we had the best one in the area. Across every city and country, each guide and driver was professional, punctual, and genuinely committed to making our experience stress-free and memorable. I honestly don’t know how Andy managed to coordinate such a complex, multi-city, multi-country itinerary—but he did it flawlessly. His service, attention to detail, and flexibility were truly top-notch. I only wish I had connected with him earlier when planning the rest of our Asia trip. I highly recommend Andy and his team to anyone planning travel in Asia—they truly go above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience.

Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.

How much does Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta cost?

    +

Prices start at $199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta take?

    +

Is Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cu Chi Tunnels Tour with Boat Ride in Mekong Delta start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
