About this experience
We'll take you on a once-in-a-lifetime excursion to three of the Cayman Islands' must-see locations. Stingray City, Coral Garden, and Starfish Snorkel are suggested stops. A knowledgeable local crew from the Cayman Islands is in care of the 3.5-hour expedition. The excursion includes round-trip transportation from George Town's port, free use of snorkeling equipment, the opportunity to feed stingrays, and a selection of drinks. You will reach Coral Gardens at the beginning of this exciting excursion, where the water is between eight and ten feet deep. We suggest that everyone wear a life jacket for their own protection. Visitors can feed stingrays at Stingray City from a sandbar as they swim across the white sand floor. The trip's focal point and longest rest stop is Stingray City. Worthwhile excursion while in port for only 1 day
Definitely a busy spot but definitely worth a trip. Tour company picked us up at the Cruise port which is very nice. We got to snorkel in one spot and then went to Stingray City. After that we headed to Starfish. While touristy it is really cool to be that close to so many stingrays. Guides will 'catch' one so you can hold it.

Seeing all the Starfish was the best part for me.
The tour was fun and crew of the Big Dee was good. The van ride over was crowded. This was my wife and I second time doing this excursion, this time with kids age 13 and 10. Last time the sandbar where the stingrays congregate was much larger and the boats more spread out, this time the sandbar is very small with a lot of boats jockeying to find a space to back into. The snorkel portion is over a coral rock garden with the rocks/coral spaced out. We saw a medium amount of fish, no large groups like if you snorkel in the Florida keys. The last stop was Starfish point where you can get out on a beach and find starfish in the stare, you can pick them up but do not take them above the water as they are living creatures. The boat operators were good at enforcing this when they saw some of kids who parents were not supervising them pick up the starfish out of the water and they yelled at them. I enjoyed the trip but definitely had better memories from years ago when the sandbar was much larger and not as crowded.

Fantastic trip to Stingray City!
The operators went above and beyond to ensure this was a fantastic excursion for everyone on board. We went on the three-stop trip. First, we snorkeled coral gardens, which lived up to its name. There are fantastic coral formations, lots of fish, and even a small stingray. Then we stopped at Stingray City. Everyone interacted with the stingrays. We got great pictures. The final stop was Starfish Point. Again, everyone was able to hold the starfish and enjoy the stop. Highly recommend. Great price.

Wonderful tour of Cayman's waters
Was bit skeptical due to bad reviews but it was great experience for all of us. First stop for Snorkel around 12-14 ft deep water, it didn't look good but once in the water you could see so much reef and fish then some stingrays coming around to nudge you. tour staff did throw some bait to draw fish and it was very good. Then to the Stingray City, as we gather around in a large circle getting pushed around by the waves, captain got a large stingray and had us touch (all 20+ of us), hold and feed it while other smaller stingray wanted to get fed to keep nudging at us or even taking the bait off our hands. So, any review of not seeing Stingray is not true, we were in water for about 45 min with plenty of time to touch, hold, catch n hold, feed, wonder around the area with stingrays. Then to Starfish island, which was not that good, shallow water had several starfish lay around, with captains info session we were able to hold star fish and learn about the starfish. Overall, it was very good snorkel and informational tour.

Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Grand Cayman.
How much does Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish cost?
+
Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Grand Cayman usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Grand Cayman is not rushed.
Is Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Grand Cayman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Grand Cayman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Grand Cayman and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cruise Ship Shore Tour - Stingray City, Reef Snorkel and Starfish start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Grand Cayman within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Grand Cayman?
+
On Outty we rank every Grand Cayman experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group E-Bike Grand Cayman Ecological Half-Day Tour, Stingray City Experience Plus Two Snorkeling Stops on Grand Cayman, Stingray City Experience Plus One Snorkeling Stop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Grand Cayman?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Grand Cayman?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
