The driver was scheduled...
The driver was scheduled to arrive at 1130 to take our family of 5 from the hotel to the cruise port but did not show up. At 1135 we received a call that the driver would be arriving in 25 minutes. We were scheduled for a 1200 check in at the cruise terminal which was the time the driver finally arrived. We did get to the terminal by 1210. The entire experience was an unwelcome stressful start to our vacation.

Fine but weird
The pickup from airport was a little unprofessional and not as well developed as other pickups that display the customer name. The car provided for transport appeared to be a personal car not a car set up for shuttling tourists back and forth from the airport. That said, the driver was curious despite not having English, helped with bags and I felt was a cautious driver. The ticket was booked as a transfer from the airport to the cruise terminal - and I had to look up the address of the terminal for the driver. That’s weird right? Anyway, I arrived safe and sound which is the bottom line I suppose.

Viking Transport kudos
We’ve had an excellent experience with Viking Transport Iceland. Ahmed responded very quickly to my request for information and made arrangements for the transfer of 3 couples, with 2 preces of luggage per person, from the cruise terminal to our hotel. Sab, the driver, arrived right on time and generously waited for almost 30 min, as our disembarking was delayed. He drove us in a very comfortable Mercedes Benz van. Sab was very polite and helpful with the loading and unloading of our luggage, We have now made prompt arrangements with Ahmed Dr for the transfer of our group from the hotel to the international airport.

We liked being able to...
We liked being able to pre book our transport to the port to ensure it was ready and waiting. We thought the driver would meet us inside the terminal, but he was outside. Customs took longer than expected so recommend timing your ride about 45 min after arrival. Our driver did contact us by phone and waited for us. This transfer was a much better value than that offered by the cruise line. Did not like that the driver had what appeared to be YouTube videos playing while driving.

The ride from Cruise port...
The ride from Cruise port to KEF was good however the driver was little late on the time. We were started getting on to another van for the ride when he came. I believe that he was not familiar with the Cruise port pick up point and drop off point. Hopefully from this mistake he learned it.
