Create Your Very Own Custom Perfume or Cologne in Charleston - Fragrance 101

Quite an informative and fun venture

My wife and I and a friend learned of this unusual opportunity for something different to do while in Charleston, and we were not disappointed. We arrived for our scheduled appointment early and were greeted and started our adventure sooner than expected, which was great. Our instructor gave us a foundation and offered every possible tip to creating our own fragrances from 3 base scents out of 10 options, and trying different combinations from an alphabetical “organ” of about 75 secondary scents. Once we tried our magic 3 combos on each wrist and one on the back of the right hand, we were advised to freely go outside for nose/scent clearing, and decide which one was “the one” for each of us (although we each ended up with 2 of our distinctive scents because they were our personal creations!), then added distilled water and alcohol, and poured our concoctions into 55 ml bottles, for which they made individual labels for each with our chosen product names. We were then treated to champagne and received certificates for completing the class. This was a fun and unusual experience and we now have scents to remember that experience. Thumbs up!

Fun Experience

We discovered TIJON as we were walking back to our hotel. Creating my own perfume was on my list while in Charleston. The manager, Eliza Nix, was awesome. Eliza was thorough in explaining the walk-in process to create a perfume. Kudos to Eliza on her excellent customer service. Thank you again Eliza for helping me create my first perfume, Divine. I have received many compliments on my perfume. Creating my perfume at TIJON was fun & one of my favorite activities in Charleston.

Lovely Staff!

What a great solo event to book. I spent a good 1 1/2 hour at the place. It was a neat experience. Afterwards, you get a certificate, gift bag and the perfume scent you created along with a toast of champagne. They even keep the scent on file for future purchases. There was a gal in the group that was there making her own new future wedding fragrance. Highly suggest for bachelorette parties. I found a lipstick class I may be booking also. Definitely worth the money spent here.

Memorable Experience

I was looking for a unique experience and Tijon delivered. You actually get to create your own unique fragrance. You get to choose from a myriad of oils. You use three oils per beaker and you have three beakers. You choose the mix you like best and then you create your fragrance. The young lady who led the class (a group of 5), was super helpful about which oils went well together. She did not interfere and only gave her input when asked. I adore the scent I created! Before you leave, champagne is offered and a toast is made. You also get to chose a small bottle of perfume and are given lovely smelling soap and an atomizer. I received an e-mail about the composition of my fragrance in case I would like to order more in the future. I had a lot of fun as did my niece who accompanied me.

This was a BLAST

I had an amazing time! I gave myself the big custom create class for my birthday. There is less expensive, but less options option which I also think would be fun. It could be a bit intimidating (many many many options) but the instruction and guidance are awesome, you will never feel on your own, especially if you can not get your scent just right! And if you lean into it and have fun, you will truly enjoy! There is no pressure- if you do not like what you created, you can start over! The staff is amazing, and a special shout out to Ceora for being super patient, funny and kind- and very knowledgeable. 5+ stars. Would be a fantastic mother daughter, bachelorette, birthday, chick date or whatever! It is an excellent value- for a full scent you create, a small scent choice from their creations, and the class itself. A+++
