    Nice food and company

We really liked that we got to see Beijing's little streets and experience that atmosphere. And this while tasting nice chinese food. Great tour.

A wonderful Gluten Free food tour with beer

We throughly enjoyed our Gluten Free food tour of the Hutongs with Dom & Nicole, washed down with some wonderful craft beers to round off a perfect few hours. Their local knowledge and humour gave us the confidence to ‘go local’ and enjoy street food for the rest of our holiday in China. Thank you

    Expensive

It was a new tour in the Hutongs. We stopped two times to taste some street food snacks, we stopped for a drink in a restaurant and for drinks from a convenience store. Dominique the guide was friendly and explained a couple of things. The bike were electric and in good shape. The whole tour took a little over 3 hours. The distances were short. Group 13 persons. The price of €50 p.p. was too expensive and not worthwhile.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your feedback ◡̈ sorry to hear you didn’t feel it was worth while. The experience you joined wasn’t the Craft beer & street food. On this experience we enjoy 4 street foods & 4 beer stops. Nevertheless less it’s never cool to hear someone didn’t think any of our experiences weren’t worth while especially when it’s discounted already for you guys. I (Dominic) truly enjoy spending time with you & am really now thinking about this for the past few hours already as to what went wrong and how I can improve for you. I am a little confused about the couple of explanations, we stop many more times and give explanations, stories, and well as answering any questions people have. So I also apologise this didn’t seem enough information & I’m already getting down more idea to ensure someone doesn’t feel like this again! It may have been missed or not heard being in a slightly bigger group. We now usually have two people in groups over 10 people to ensure everyone gets enough attention & information & ultimately the best experience in Beijing that we’ve been curating over the years. We do what we do because of our love for Beijing & sharing a side to Beijing that most people miss when they visit. If there was no value for you found in the experience I truly hope that you visit again and you can this one you’ve left a review for. Because honestly if I was expecting a Craft beer & street food experience I would also not be so happy if I didn’t have more than 2 street foods & a beer. I do also understand that our experiences aren’t for everyone as they aren’t like usual tours when you get taken from A to B and probably cover much more distance. We like to focus on quality over quantity & it’s still a tough pill to swallow that it wasn’t quality enough for you. Truly all we want is every single person to have an amazing time with us & see the hidden side to Beijing deep in local life & culture! Regardless of which experience you joined I want you to find value in everything & anything we do & feel it’s worth both your money & your time 🕰️

Thanks again for your feedback, it’s taken on-board & really appreciate you taking the time to let us know your honest opinions. Please know you can still reach out to us for any advice or help in Beijing as we always offer a helpline for our guests.

Really enjoyed the Beijing street food and craft beer tour. Our guide Xin gave us a great tour. We enjoyed new foods, had a few great beers and got a lot of information on the history and culture.

Response from the operator: Thank you for this kind feedback. Xin is one of our top foodies & I'm glad to hear you had a great experience ◡̈

Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs cost?

    +

Prices start at $5 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.

Is Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Craft Beer & Street Food in the Hutongs start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
