Fun guide and informative tour
Marvin was very personable and served as a great guide for our group. Great about staying in touch regarding pickup and made sure we were all informed about meeting times and places. The tour is informative and I really enjoyed both the caves and Maropeng experience.

Unsafe for solo female travellers.
I booked 2 tours while in Johannessburg. The first day, there was 3 other people in the group and had a great day. The second was the cradle, and when i was picked up i was the only person for the day. I felt nervous but trusted the 150+ positive reviews and had also googled the tour provider which seemed legit. My driver took me to both sites, the Caves and then the cradle. He waited while i went through the exhibits with guides from the location. On our return home, i had my google maps running, for my route back to my hotel. He missed the exit to my hotel. I asked him which way he was going home, and he said sometimes if he misses that exit, he takes the next one. However it added 35 minutes to the route. When we got to the exit he said he was taking, he moved over, indicated to exit but then just kept driving and continued down the highway. At that point i was extremely scared. He became very quiet and wouldnt answer any of my questions. I messaged my group staying at the hotel and let the driver know i had done so. Then i called my husband at home who had my location. I kept him on loud speaker and told him we had missed the exit so would be delayed. Only at this point did the driver exit the highway, turn around and continue back in the direction of my hotel. We had gone so far past we were nearly at the next city. I kept my husband on the line until we reached the hotel and i was out of the car as fast as i could. I have never been so terrified in my entire life and was absolutely sure something terrible was about to happen. On the return home the driver was extremely agitated, and nervous looking. I jumped out of the car and ran and didnt look back. I was so scared and stressed, i couldn't stop crying at the hotel and also thinking about what might have happened. I consider myself very lucky that i had been paying attention to the route, and managed to get myself out. Turns out even legitimate tour providers you cannot trust. PLEASE BE SAFE - DO NOT USE LADIES!!!

Stress-free Tour Day
Our tour guide Marvin was an absolute delight! He shared local knowledge and history during the car ride which enhanced our experience of Johannesburg. He was very kind, personable and flexible with any changes the group wanted to make to the schedule. Also great communication! The pick up and drop off is also really helpful because these sites are quite far away.

Great educational getaway from Johannesburg
Location is an hour outside of Johannesburg. Our driver was on-time and kind. Tour of the caves itself was beautiful. The steps down/up are somewhat physically demanding. Tour of the Cradle was informative and educational.
