A Perfect Wine Tasting Escape Near Rome
We had an amazing time at this family-owned winery in the Frascati region just outside of Rome. Stefano, our driver, was fantastic and made the whole trip easy and enjoyable. Valentina, our host and sommelier, was awesome-super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tasting a lot of fun. The winery is beautiful, the wines were incredible, and the whole experience felt very personal. Definitely book the early time slot if you can—we had the place to ourselves, which made it even better. If you're looking for a great day in the Italian countryside, this is a must-do!
Response from the operator: Dear Neil, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're delighted that you enjoyed your visit to our family-owned winery in the beautiful Frascati countryside. Stefano and Valentina will be thrilled to hear your kind words. We're so glad you loved the wines, the warm hospitality, and the personal atmosphere that makes this experience so special. Thank you for recommending the early morning tour and for your wonderful recommendation. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable taste of Italy!

Lovely experience
This was a nice break from the city for our group of friends. The taxi driver communicated well, picked us up on time, and pointed out sites of interest along the way. On arrival at the vineyard, we were given a brief explanation of the maker's history and processes. Then we headed inside for the tasting, which consisted of three wines (white, rosé, red) paired with bread and their olive oil, cheese and jellies. Afterward, we purchased a full bottle and walked around the grounds a bit to enjoy the views and breeze. Overall, a great experience that all of our group enjoyed and would recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Allison! We’re delighted to hear that you and your friends enjoyed this relaxing escape from the city. It’s great to know that your driver made the journey enjoyable with punctual service, clear communication, and interesting insights along the way. We’re also pleased that you enjoyed the wine tasting, local food pairings, and the opportunity to explore the vineyard grounds and take in the beautiful countryside views. Purchasing a bottle to take home is always a great way to remember the experience! Thank you for your recommendation, Allison. We hope to welcome you and your friends back for another memorable experience in Italy soon.

Lovely, quiet and enjoyable.
It was a beautiful afternoon away from the bustling city. The property was beautiful. I agree with other reviews that more time exploring the vineyards would have been lovely but we so enjoyed our time. We also bought a case of wine - strongly considered buying a row!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed a peaceful afternoon away from the busy city and that you loved the beauty of the estate. Your comment about spending more time exploring the vineyards is greatly appreciated and very helpful for us. We’re especially happy to hear you enjoyed the wines so much — buying a case is the highest compliment, and purchasing a whole row would truly make you part of the family! Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back for another relaxing countryside escape soon!

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing cost?
+
Prices start at $82 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing take?
+
Plan for about 3.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 80 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing?
+
Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 3.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Countryside Wine Tasting with Local Family & Food Pairing start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
