Your private tour start from Athens early in the morning and drive towards the scenic coastal road of Athens to the magnificent structure of the Corinth Canal, which is in Peloponnese, the southern peninsula of Greece. The Corinth Canal connects the Saronic with the Corinthian Gulf in the Aegean Sea.A dream of the ancients, that came true in 1893. Time for rest and some amazing photos above the Corinth Canal.

Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos)
Leaving the Isthmos and driving to the Ancient Corinth, where St. Paul lived for almost two years making a very important misionary work. There is the church that has the 1st Letter to the Corithians written in four languages, Greek, Arabic, French and English.Ancient Corinth was an important state city during the ancient years, the richest and most famous port of the ancient Greece. There you can visit both Greek and Roman arhitectures at the archaeological site and the museum.

You will see the Castle of the city, Palamidi that's over the town as well as Mpourtzi the island fortress, the first defence line of the port. A wonderfull seaside place, ideal for some walking and taste the famous Greek cuisine and have a memorable lunch in a traditional restaurant or tavern .There you can see the old houses of the Nafplion, as well as the local shops that sell handmade objects and jewelry for all tastes and wallets. When you have a great driver, who incorporates his own stories and experiences into the days sightseeing, you get a great result. This was the case with George, our driver, who became a friend over the course of the day. After an initial surprise at the underlying story of the construction of the Corinth canal, we were impressed by ancient Corinth and its surrounds. The story of its place and time in the early and then glory days of Greece, the impact of Roman settlement and also in the early Christian era were reflective of major global changes over more than a thousand years. We were then lucky enough to spend an hour or so in Nafplio, which we thought was going to be the highlight of our tour. What a beautifully preserved and rejuvenated town which sits very well against its coastal position. However, the real highlight was a very late lunch at George’s favourite restaurant on the coast at Tolo. A wonderful location was complemented by seafood pasta and fish meals that were absolutely among the best we have had. We exceeded our recommended time by an hour or so, getting back at 6.20pm, which was reflective of an excellent day. Thanks George for the opportunity to spend it with you.

Nafplio family day trip
This is our 3rd trip with this company. By this time it’s like going on a tour with a friend. Our daughter just joined us and George made her feel very welcomed. This is our 2nd time in Nafplio so George brought us to places we haven’t been to before. We had a late lunch and the place we went to was obviously a locals place with lots of fresh seafood. The view from Mycenae and Paladimi Castle was beyond beautiful bec of the effects of the clouds on the mountains. It was a long day but we saw so many amazing views and places. Thank you George!!

A nice break from Athens
This tour was outside of Athens. A nice break from the multitudes in Athens and the extreme heat. The sights were well worth the trip. We were hampered by the noon to five closure of all sights. So our driver made sure we saw the ones we should. Minkines and Epidaurus. Both were fascinating. A highlight for us though was the unexpected beauty of Napflio. What a beautiful seaside town. We had lunch there at a fish restaurant picked by our driver George. Very good. One thing people should know is this is a private tour for up to three. There really is no expert tour guide. Your driver will tell you some things but drops you off at the sights and you are on your own to get tickets and visit the sights. For this tour well worth having a driver who knows the places to go.

Early Greek History
The sites we visited were wonderful. Lots and lots of Greek history. We did a lot of walking. Many ruins. Lunch was very good. We felt safe for sure. Driver was going to send us links to some things to do in Athens and didn’t. Unfortunately he also was a smoker and the van smelled like smoke. Overall a good experience.

George was a fantastic, knowledgeable, and lively tour guide. The Pelopponese is a must see - gorgeous and so historical! We even saw and trekked the castle of Corinth!
