Cordoba is a must see
The guide was courteous and knowledgeable. The tour was filled with information about the Jewish quarter and philosopher. I was disappointed because he stood for 5 minutes talking about his college and shared no relevance to the famous Ophthalmologist, Muhammad ibn Qassoum al-Ghafiqi, who’s statue was standing right behind us. He is famous for his work on cataract and he lived and died in Cordoba. The tour guide did not bother to mention Ibn Rushd who is a Cordoba native and his world famous in the world of philosophy. The lack of reference to Islamic scholars is disappointing. Please teach your team to share history with authenticity.

Brilliant private tour, Fatima is a fabulous guide
With a long planned trip to the wonder that is the Mezquita in Cordoba we felt an investment in a private tour would help do justice to this wonderful piece of history. We picked ArtenCordoba perhaps more through luck rather than judgement - simply based on it appearing high up on the google search ranking. Pat on the back to whoever at ArtenCordoba does their search engine optimisation work. Following the initial enquiry all arrangements made via email. We had a number of clarifications which were fully provided - never quite sure if we were engaging with a bot or human, if the former another well-done. Payment process through a secure portal so no concerns there. Pre visit arrangements well handled but we must say that the tour itself was absolutely excellent and worth every euro. We met our guide, Fatima, at 10:00 as arranged without problem. What a credit Fatima is to ArtenCordoba. Absolutely brilliant guide, very engaging, spoke excellent English, great local knowledge and specific knowledge of the history of the Iberian Peninsula and specifically of course the history of Cordoba. Plus judged the pace well, and at no time did we feel , as is the real benefit of the personal private tour for just two people, that we were being route marched round. Our tour covered both a walk past the alcazar, down to the royal stables, touching on patios and through La juderia before entering the Mezquita. Lots of insights and things, even having read guidebooks / internet articles, that we would never have picked up on. Likewise within the stunning environs of the Mezquita itself Fatima highlighted many aspects that we may well have missed completely, plus as with our external walk Fatima was happy to answer all the questions that we had. The tour ended within the Mezquita leaving us as much time as we wanted to wander round again, take photos, or just sit in awe of our surroundings. All in all a fantastic experience. So a huge thank you to Fatima, and to ArtenCordoba.
