    1. Cordoba

Private tour of the Amazing Cordoba with private English-speaking official guide to give you a wonderful insight of the history and culture of this spectacular place. / / Cordoba was once one of the greatest cities of the medieval world, even challenging Constantinople with its extraordinary palaces and mosques – the grandest of which, the Mezquita, is still one of the wonders of Europe. Now, the city is smaller than its Andalusian neighbors such as Granada and Seville, which in a way makes it far more appealing and charming. The main attractions are easily accessible on foot, wandering among the squares of the old town, the narrow streets of the ancient Jewish quarter, Cordoba is renowned for its extensive selection of tapas bars, where you’re as likely to be surrounded by locals as tourists. Extremely hot in the summer, Cordoba’s climate is at its best in autumn and spring. The most important feature of Cordoba is the Mezquita (Mosque) which after the re-conquest of Andalusia

    Surprise! No tickets for entry!😱

The only reason we wanted to go to Cordoba was to enter the Mosque-Cathedral. Knowing that April 28 was a Sunday, there are limited hours to visit and we had to be back in Sevilla by 5:30pm for an evening engagement. So I contacted our Guide/Driver Ramon from Andalucía Geographic - see photo confirming we had tickets for 3:00pm entry. First of all the van was not a Mercedes and its suspension was shot, so rough ride… Then 3:00pm comes and Ramon hands us over to the Guide for the Mosque-Cathedral Private Guided Tour who was excellent but the first thing she asked from us were our “Tickets” for entry. At this point Ramon was gone and not answering our calls - stressful and angry - the lady guide was able to get us tickets from their company’s no-shows for the day so we were able to get in… The ride home was very quiet as Ramon knew we were very angry. We did get back to our hotel by 5:30 in the rickety van… Beware of Andalucía Geographic and Ramon!

Response from the operator: I am sorry that your experience of the tour was not good. The vehicle may have devoloped a problem with the suspension, which can happen. All commercial vehicles in Spain are tested yearly and 6 monthly, depending on the age of the vehicle, This is done by the Spanish authorites. The tickets was a mistake, but new tickets would have been repurchased had the guide not had some no shows from a previous tour. Once again though, I apologise for the po0r experience.

A fantastic trip for the family, with insights and an intimate feel

Javi was a great tour guide and driver to Cordoba. We stopped at Carmona on the way back to have another feel for a small town. We had our meals with Javi, and he talked to us about local foods and traditions. He also recommended places to go in Sevilla. He was amazing! Jose was our local tour guide in Cordoba. He knew so many details and fun facts about the mosque-Cathedral, the city and Jewish quarter. In summary, a fantastic trip!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind reviews and I will pass this onto Javi and Jose. Thank you

    +

When is the best time to visit Seville?

    +

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
