Grandma's cooking workshops make you feel the love of home
I absolutely loved the Grandma's Cooking Workshops and definitely had to return more times. The celebrations we had together were so much fun and I felt so much love from all the abuelas. They taught us how to cook delicious, traditional Spanish dishes like fideuà, paella, tortilla, tapas, and sangria. We helped through every step of the process, from cutting the vegetables to flipping the pan and taking in all the rich smells. They were patient and genuine, treating us like their own and feeding us so well. It was really special to learn authentic recipes that they brought to us from their homes and lived experiences. We were surprised with a tasty dessert to finish the meal and overall enjoyed the good food and company with the Grandmas.

Great family feel in a foreign country!!!
Great experience and well organized. You’re warmly greeted and welcomed into the kitchen with plenty of extra hands, so no dishes or cleanup. Charming team with excellent English. Would be 5 star, but meat used for main dish was lowest level possible. Sides and dessert were excellent! Main dish was tasty, except for the quality of the meat used. Would still do this again in a New York minute. Wonderful experience. We did it with 4 couples. Ton of fun and laughs! Drinks were provided.
Response from the operator: Hi and thanks for your feedback! On that day we cooked "Fideus a la cassola" as a main dish, which is a traditional Catalan dish. The pork meats used were three: Pork belly (to sautée the vegetables in), pork ribs in pieces (as the meat part of the dish) and Perol sausage (rich cold cut, to add a nice touch on the taste). We did the groceries at the Santa Caterina Market as we allways want to offer fresh and top quality products. Thanks for your comments and we will double check with our providers at the market. Kisses from Barcelona! Yves

Great experience, wonderful people, fun night out with our kids!
What a fun night! Veronica, Cali and the rest of the crew welcomed us and our kids with warmth and kindness into their lovely kitchen, where we spent a fun evening cooking the most delicious meal. Cali was spectacular. I loved learning some of her special family recipes (the meatballs!!), and my kids felt right at home. After 10 days of restaurant eating on our vacation, this was a welcome change of pace. Surprisingly relaxing and full of laughs. Thank you for a fantastic evening! Highly recommend!!

Top tips from Grandma
we enjoyed a good evening with Yves and Conchita, our self taught Grandma cook. Set in a relaxed and informal setting of someone's home in the centre of Barcelona we had a hands on experience preparing a 3 course meal and learning some new techniques - great for beginners or amateur chefs

Must do while in Barcelona!
My friend and I were looking for something unique to do while traveling in Barcelona. We came across Grandma's Cooking and decided to give it a shot! Yves was an excellent host and made sure that our night was incredible. We prepared a traditional Catalan meal with our Grandma and then had an enjoyable dinner. The conversation during dinner was also a highlight for me. I think it is a great way to immerse yourself and experience a different culture. Our Grandma had a great sense of humor, but also made sure that we were learning her cooking style and secrets. I recommend this to anyone looking for something different and fun to try while in Barcelona. We would definitely do this again and any other event run by Yves!

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.
How much does Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.
Is Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cooking Class with Grandma. Groups & Corprative start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Barcelona?
+
Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Barcelona?
+
May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Barcelona?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
