One of the best life experiences
I was a great experience to know about Shahboz ‘s village and culture. He picked up from my hotel and started with the bread baking tour…after that we went for marketing for our dishes…then he gave us a glance of his village and the different kind of farming being done there…When we arrived at his house, we were welcomed with fresh fruits from his farm along with tea and Samarkhand bread…Then we started the cooking class…it was really amazing how he explained us everything..we prepared Samarkhand plov and khanim together…both were really great… Later he dropped us to our hotel with a note of thanks…. I would really recommend every food lover visiting Samarkhand to attend this class..

I strongly recommend this day
A truly wonderful day. We have been travelling along the Silk Road from Khiva to Tashkent. Being shown the most spectacular madrasahs, mosques and mausoleums. So for something completely different in Samarkand when our guide Shahbot collected us, along with some other guests, and took us to his village and small holding. Here we were introduced to his family who were so welcoming. We saw how they lived, met their goats which was great fun, we enjoyed eating some of the produce they were growing and got to cook two Uzbek dishes, plov and samsos. Truly great fun. A wonderful day that I can highly highly recommend. Thank you

Cooking Class
An absolutely fantastic experience from beginning to end! 🥰 I had the chance to participate in a traditional Uzbek cooking class with a local family in Samarkand. We prepared plov, samsas, mantis, and even traditional bread baked in their oven! The family was lovely, very welcoming, and incredibly kind. A day filled with laughter, sharing, and good cheer. A wonderful immersion in Uzbek culture that I 100% recommend! ❤️

Real Uzbek Life and Food
A wonderful glimpse into real Uzbek family life! Akram and his family welcomed us so warmly. Making plov was great fun, with clear, step-by-step instructions, and his wife treated us to a table full of delicious homemade dishes. We also learned about shopping and prices at Siab Bazaar, and the unexpected bakery visit exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed it 120%—highly recommended!

Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Samarkand.
How much does Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking cost?
+
Prices start at $61 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Samarkand usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Samarkand is not rushed.
Is Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Samarkand, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking?
+
Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Samarkand can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Samarkand and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Authentic! Cooking TWO MEALS (plov+1 more) and Visit Bread Baking start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Samarkand within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Samarkand?
+
On Outty we rank every Samarkand experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include A City Tour Of Samarkand: The Pearl Of The East, Private Samarkand City Tour with Transport: Inside Attractions, Seven Lakes Day Tour from Samarkand (Private & Group Options). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Samarkand?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Samarkand?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
