Hanoi tour and cooking class to change your world.
Kim was amazing. His expertise in the kitchen was fantastic. I would do it again I. A heartbeat.

An incredible experience!!
I cannot speak highly enough of the Kims. We did the food tour on our first day in Hanoi to also get the lay of the land. We then signed up for Kim’s cooking class and it was phenomenal, like one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had in the world. Both Kims were also so knowledgeable about history and hanoi, so it was so helpful to get their perspectives and answers to my questions. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to hangout and get to know Kim and have the experience of a lifetime.

A marvelous culinary jaunt
Did the cooking class with Kim and wow! What a comprehensive delightful experience. Shopping and cooking all part of the experience and done in his beautiful parlor. Very easy going fun and so much learning.

Awesomeness Max!
Thanks Kim! Amazing experience, most fun in a cooking class ever, sparkling conversation, lovely lunch
Response from the operator: Hi Darryl, Thank you so much for your lovely words! We're so happy you had such a fun time cooking, chatting, and sharing lunch together. It was truly a pleasure having you both with us, and we hope you take home some delicious memories from Hanoi! With love, The Kims

An authentic experience that felt like visiting friends
Such an amazing experience! The Kims welcomed us into their home, shared their culture with us, and taught us how to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes completely from scratch — and everything turned out absolutely delicious! We spent the day exploring the local market, preparing dinner together, and learning so much about Vietnamese food and culture. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, not only sharing their knowledge about cooking but also happily answering all the questions we had — even those completely unrelated to food. It was such a fun and authentic way to kick off our vacation in Hanoi. What we loved most was how personal and relaxed the evening felt — it genuinely felt like we were spending time with friends rather than attending a cooking class. We couldn’t recommend this experience more! If you’re looking for something authentic, personal, and delicious, definitely book it!
Response from the operator: Hi Yara, Thank you so much for your beautiful words! ❤️ It was such a pleasure having you and your Mom in our home and spending the evening together. We’re so happy that you enjoyed not only cooking and exploring the local market, but also the little conversations and cultural exchanges along the way. For us, that’s what makes the experience special — sharing food, stories, and everyday life, just like spending time with friends. We loved having you both and are so glad we could be part of the beginning of your Hanoi adventure. Thank you again for your kindness and for choosing to share this experience with us. We hope our paths cross again someday! With love, The Kims

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $57 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cook, Taste & Laugh: Hanoi Private Cooking Class & Market Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ha Giang Loop 3-Day Small Group - from Hanoi, (Group/Individual) HANOI STREET FOOD TOUR, Incense Village Quang Phu Cau, Hat Village and Hanoi City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
