It is not possible in other cities! Our tour takes you to various cherry blossom viewing spots that represent Tokyo; cherry blossoms in rich landscapes such as Ueno Park, Chidoriga-fuchi Moat, or in historical gardens such as Rikugien Gardens and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and beautifully lit cherry blossoms such as Nakameguro and Chidorigafuchi. Through cherry blossoms, you will also learn about the city of Tokyo. We plan to visit 12 places. But the number of places may increase or decrease depending on the wishes of all participants. The places we visit may change depending on the cherry blossom conditions. We may extend the stay at a favorite place. In case of rain, we will change the schedule, such as the lunch location.

Koishikawa Botanical Gardens dates back to the Herbal Garden established by the Tokugawa Shogunate in 1684. The attractive hilly topography gives it a mountain village feel. The cherry blossom grove on the cliff is magnificent. Unlike other cherry blossom spots that prune their branches, the cherry trees here with flower-filled branches hang down close to the ground and express freedom to be bound by nothing. It is also a very cozy place to have a picnic.

Harimazaka (Harima Slope)
Cherry blossom viewing in Harima-zaka Cherry Blossom Avenue : This avenue is a beautiful street lined with four rows of cherry blossom trees. Its construction began as part of the earthquake reconstruction plan after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, and as part of the war damage reconstruction project after 1945. But except this section, land acquisition has not progressed, and the road has not been completed. The center of the road was turned into a park, and people take a stroll and hold banquets. The first cherry trees were planted in 1870, and there are now 400 trees. Many trees were donated in memory of fallen comrades by fellow comrades or families. One of the trees at the shrine is the standard tree that marks the date when cherry blossoms bloom in Tokyo, and during cherry blossom season, this plant are broadcast on television every day.

Cherry Blossom viewing in Tokyo
We had a wonderful cherry blossom viewing experience. Daigo our guide took us to the best spots where the blossoms were still in bloom. The Shinjuku Gyoen garden and Chidori-ga-fuchi moat as well as Ueno gardens were spectacular. Daigo was a very considerate guide asking if we were tired or hungry and needed a break. After being on the go for 6 hours, we told him we were tired and he asked us if we would like to go back to the hotel and rest for a bit which we did. He picked us up from the hotel after a couple of hours and we went to see the illuminated blossoms which was a treat. On the whole it was a lovely day. Daigo gave us a lot of information on the cherry blossoms and the history of the trees and how Hanami became a national pastime during this season.

Beautiful but exhausting tour
On this excursion we walked 29,000 steps (12 miles) at top speed for 9 hours till we gave up and took a taxi back leaving the 25 year olds to finish the last 3 stops. We saw a lot of beautiful trees, but we also had to struggle with standing room only packed trains and we were exhausted by the experience. This tour is too big and tries to cover too much ground unless you are young and very fit. Conquer is the word and we were conquered. Our guide was a bit hard to understand and quite hard to keep up with, but I give him credit for enthusiasm and thoroughness. The complete tour is 12 hours long from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. For us, it was just too much. An 8 hour tour would have sufficed. We did see a wonderful assortment of cherry blossoms and a nice quick trip through a museum, but 12 miles was too much for us. Just know before you go. Seeing the Cherry blossoms was on my bucket list, but if I had to do it over, I would take a tour where they drive you. I would only recommend this to young people.
