Show me Italy Tours are Scam Artists
These Show Me Italy people are not reputable. My flight had mechanical issues and my trip was canceled. I messaged these scam artists and tried calling for 3 days with no response! They kept my money and would not even respond to my numerous messages! I will be leaving multiple reviews everywhere I can to tell people about these crooks. Not so much as a response! DO NOT USE SHOW ME ITALY or VIATOR- they will NOT stand behind their business. Awful people… a true Scam

Not the best value for money - spend it on another company
Mixed feelings about this tour and I rarely leave bad reviews, but I would honestly suggest looking for another provider given the high price paid. We were really excited for this tour and it was one of the things we decided to splurge on - but it let us down on several fronts. Firstly, despite getting about 6 emails and reminder WhatsApp messages, the actual details about address where to meet were buried once in a hyperlink (hard to find), and the details about the meeting location, staff shirt colour etc wasnt provided until we were lost and late and stressed. Plus meeting location is complicated by roadworks (not the fault of the tour but better information ahead of time would have helped). The operators at the meeting point were not really very sympathetic to our distress. Additionally, despite booking a guide for an internal Colosseum tour we were told a few days ahead of time that this was not possible due to rule changes by the Colosseum - the provider did offer a discount. Whilst disappointed we figured this is not the fault of the provider.....however, it seemed as though every other tour still provided guides inside the Colosseum....so hard to work out what was the true story, and we felt as though we missed out on a lot - again especially for the price we paid... Then the guide (who was really good) spent the entire allocated tour time OUTSIDE the Colosseum, I guess she did this so we felt we got our money's worth. Great except this also wasnt communicated to us ahead of time and so given we had other bookings planned for the day we ended up only rushing around inside (without a guide) for 30 mins because that is all the time we had left. Providing this information earlier would have let us decide to leave the tour early to see the Actual 'main event' for a longer time. Lastly I had to pester multiple times to get the discount that was offered and got absolutely no response to my feedback nor questions about the guides from other companies being inside the Colosseum. I do not feel like the discount offered was proportional to the loss of tour experience. Hence the poor review.

1/2 the tour cancelled before we even began.
Before we even were able to do the tour, we got an email letting us know that half of the tour (the interior Colosseum portion) was canceled and the guide would no longer be going inside with us. This was the entire reason we booked the tour. I’ve gone to the Colosseum before, but was really looking forward to having a tour guide with me to explain what I had missed on previous trips. When we did go inside the Colosseum, they were plenty of other tour groups with guides so I don’t know what policy they were referring to when they said that the guides were no longer allowed inside. Finding the tour company was a challenge in itself as there was nothing visibly marked and we had to ask multiple other guides and found one who pointed us in the right direction. Once we checked in the tour company, Show me Italy, did not have a ticket for me, even though I was the one that booked the tour. At one point, the tour guide said I might have to go with another group which I obviously insisted I would not do and was doing the tour with my husband and son. The tour company sent the Colosseum ticket to my phone via WhatsApp, but once the tour of the Roman forum was concluded, and I went inside, I was told that my ticket was not good for the arena floor, which is what we had booked. The whole tour was disappointing. I did not want to tour of the Roman Forum and Palpatine Hill by itself and feel like refunding 20% of the total fee for what should have been more than 50% of the tour is ridiculous. Also, it was supposed to be 12 people Max and there were 17 people in our group as they added in a group of tourists at the last minute. Start to finish will never use the store company Show Me Italy again.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 84 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 240 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour?
+
Around 29 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Colosseum Arena Floor and Ancient Rome Semi Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
