A Truly Insightful Tour of Ancient Rome

This was our second visit to Rome, and touring with Francesca made the experience so much more meaningful. As an archaeologist, her knowledge of ancient Rome is exceptional. Rather than simply reciting facts, she explained the archaeological and historical significance of what we were seeing in a way that gave us a much deeper appreciation of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum. We also had an unexpected mishap—we forgot our passports, which were required for entry to the Colosseum. Francesca stayed calm, patiently helped us work through the situation, and figured out how we could verify our identities so we were still able to enter. We were incredibly grateful for her resourcefulness and willingness to help. Despite the intense heat and crowds, Francesca was patient, professional, and attentive throughout the tour. Thanks to her expertise and support, our second visit to Rome was far more rewarding than our first. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for an insightful and reliable guide.

Highly Recommended

Francesca is a wonderful guide. Her communication prior to the tour was excellent and she went out of her way to ensure our small group had a great personalized experience despite it being a hot day. Some of us only knew a little about ancient Rome while others knew a lot but she somehow managed to make sure everyone was fully engaged throughout. Would highly recommend.

Relaxed learning experience

As an enthusiast in Ancient Roman history, I engaged Francesca because of her expertise as an archaeologist and it was a very meaningful and fruitful learning experience which delivered. The private tour with Francesca helped me to learn and understand Roman culture when she made it come alive as we explored the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. She was patient in answering my queries that spontaneously came up, helping me learn so much more about the Ancient Rome I admired and respected. History really came alive this morning. A must have tour for history buffs, much better than exploring and reading signboards on your own.

Beautiful and informative morning exploring the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum

We spent an amazing morning exploring the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum with Francesca. She tailored the tour to our wishes (we didn't want to include the Colosseum so we could focus more on the Palatine and Forum). I've been on a number of tours of these areas and she showed us so many new spots and shared so much great information and stories, all in a highly accessible way. I loved every minute of the time we spent together, as did my friends, and I look forward to another visit with her in the future. She even called ahead to get us a reservation at a nearby lunch restaurant. Such a kind and smart and warm person. Grazie Francesca!

This tour was the highlight of all of our many trips to Italy!

This private tour with Francesca was not just the highlight of our stay in Rome but the highlight of all our many trips to Italy. We thought that we knew a lot about Rome, the Colosseum & the Roman Forum but within 30 minutes we realized how little we actually knew. Francesca, who is an Archaeologist, gave us incredible access to behind the scenes areas, without the crowds, and provided insight into Ancient Rome. Each time we passed tours with 30, 40 and more people, we were immensely grateful for our private tour! We truly felt as if we were actually experiencing the life & times of Ancient Rome and the people who lived here. She totally brought history alive! Do not miss this unique opportunity when in Rome!
