Difficult hike but 100% recommend
My tour with Jersey was fantastic! The trek is challenging but worth it. Beautiful views, great stay + refreshing swim in the oasis, and the guide Jersey was full of good humour and information. My only warning is that the pickup is a bit unpredictable - mine came 20 minutes later than they were supposed to and if you are late for any meetup there is a serious chance they’ll leave without you. Make sure you’re on time for any meeting time! Note that it is a serious hike. A few people did decide to take mules up out of the canyon because they were tired (for an extra fee).

Unforgettable tour to the Colca Canyon
We booked a customized day tour to the Colca Canyon with a subsequent transfer to Puno, and the organization beforehand was extremely professional. We started early in the morning with our guide Gustavo and our driver Juan Carlos and reached the condor viewpoint at the perfect time. It was an impressive experience to watch dozens of these majestic animals in front of the imposing mountain backdrop. Phenomenal! As the day continued, we also visited the smaller villages along the canyon and learned a lot about the local history and culture. At the local arts and crafts market, we would have liked a tip from the guide that we had accidentally bought fake alpaca sweaters. We only realized this days later, and for an experienced guide, that was certainly obvious. Too bad! Otherwise, we were very satisfied with the tour, and overall it was an unforgettable experience! - We would also like to particularly praise the performance of our driver for the very strenuous and long drive to Puno! We can unreservedly recommend Peru Baby Lama for private tours as well.

I did not like that they subcontracted.
We were a group of about 14-16 from different agencies and within the same tour (Colca from Arequipa ending in Puno, 2d/1n), and part of it was with one company, and halfway through, we were switched to another guide in another vehicle. Another couple booked the same package but was in a different vehicle; some were returning to Arequipa, some included meals, and others did not. After confirming the pickup point and time twice, I went to the location (which was not exactly close), and once there, they called me because I was not in the Plaza, when it had never been agreed upon, after confirming the mistake, it took them almost an hour to pick us up. It was quite noticeable that the quality of one company and the other was very different; one stopped us at several places to leave tips, and the other did not. The meals not included were outrageous, forced (one next to my accommodation and the second lunch that was supposed to be in Chivay was in the middle of nowhere), mediocre for what they cost, and also with a fixed price (they could have informed us about those amounts beforehand). Frankly, although the guides are good, the organization leaves much to be desired and is improvable. I hope they resolve it soon.
