Wonderful Tour, let down at the end by the drop-off point in Athens

Wonderful tour with a super-knowledgeable guide, comfortable transport and amazing sites. Hotels and food were absolutely fine. One word of warning (which is why I knocked off a star): on the final day, we were dropped off in the centre of Athens (with our luggage) by the tour operator (Keytours), not at our drop-off hotel. We later complained to Viator, who eventually apologised and offered a compensatory payment, which was appreciated.

Response from the operator: Dear Patrick, Thank you for your kind feedback about the tour, our guide, and the overall experience. We’re delighted you enjoyed the journey, the sites, and the accommodations. Regarding the drop-off, we’re sorry this caused you some inconvenience. The conclusion of our tours takes place at a selection of centrally located hotels in Athens, which serve as designated drop-off points for all guests. This arrangement allows us to manage logistics smoothly and fairly for everyone on board. We understand, however, that this may not have been the most convenient option in your case, and we appreciate your feedback. We’re very happy that, overall, you had a wonderful experience, and we hope to welcome you again in the future. Kind Regards, Margarita Karavasileiadi

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend

While our tour guide and bus driver were both excellent—professional, knowledgeable, and friendly—the rest of the experience with this tour company was deeply disappointing. The hotels were advertised as 4-star accommodations, but in reality, they were barely 2 stars. The first hotel served a buffet that was clearly not fresh: the food was cold, dried out, and unappetizing. We booked for three adults but were crammed into a single room with minimal space, yet still charged full price for each person. This felt deceptive and unfair. Communication with the company was equally frustrating, responses were delayed, unhelpful, and at times, borderline condescending. Worst of all, the travel plans were changed without our knowledge. We were combined with a separate 1-day tour group and forced to wait around while their itinerary was completed, turning our return to Athens into a disjointed, drawn-out ordeal. My strong recommendation: stay away from this company. The lack of transparency, poor accommodations, and unprofessional communication made for a very disappointing trip.

    Wonderful trip

Excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. Very good hotels and nice but little expensive place to stop for lunch. Wonderful trip

Response from the operator: Thank you for your great feedback! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour and had such a positive experience with our knowledgeable and pleasant guide. We're also glad the hotels met your expectations and that the lunch stop, while a bit pricey, was enjoyable. It’s wonderful to know the trip left such a good impression — we hope to see you again on another tour!

Great three day tour of ancient sites

Imteresting sites, museums and commentary along the way. Tours were organised at times when sites were less crowded which was a bonus.

Response from the operator: Dear Jennifer, Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the interesting sites, museums, and the commentary during your tour. It's great to know that our timing helped you avoid the crowds, making your experience even better. We appreciate your support and hope to welcome you on another tour soon! The BEST EVER!

FANTASTIC! We rarely do tours but wanted to experience the Greek culture - Dozia Dermatidou exceeded our expectations! If I could give this tour a 10 it still would not really express how impressive her knowledge and passion is!! Everything was extraordinary, all details were carefully done, our comfort was important to her and the driver (Jon - bus driver extraordinaire!!!), the places we visited and stayed at were exceptional…We HIGHLY recommend this tour hands down! And to add to how exceptional this tour company is, our transfer to another bus in Delphi with Irene Koumpoura and driver Vaggelis was as superior as well! We felt very taken care of and had a wonderful time! A MUST do in Greece!!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, We are absolutely thrilled to hear that your experience with Dozia and our team exceeded your expectations. It’s wonderful to know that their knowledge, passion, and attention to detail made such a strong impression. Your high recommendation means a lot to us, and we’re grateful for your kind words about the overall experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you on another adventure soon! Best Regards, Margarita Karavasileiadi

Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens cost?

    +

Prices start at $430 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Classical Greece 3-Day Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi from Athens start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
