The 1000+ steps are worth the views
I went with a local guide at 9am to beat the heat and crowds. I bought the Dubrovnik city pass for 24h which is the same price as the entry fee but worthwhile as it offers entries to multiple other museums. The other option is to go at 6.30pm. The tedious ascent & descent will give you stunning views and definitely worth the visit. The guide also provided insights into each of the key lookout points and happy to answer questions about Croatia in general.

Stepping back in history.
A fabulous tour with so much information….and so many steps….ha ha ha. Our tour guide Divo was perfect with a wealth of information. He made for an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this tour….and go early it does get crowded. We were lucky to be here in June and had a beautiful day with a cool breeze.

A glorious tour of Dubrovnik's City Walls
Devo took us on our city walls tour. As a guide he was fantastic, and a lovely chap to boot. Devo is passionate about Dubrovnik, informative with an encyclopaedic knowledge on all things Croation, his enthusiasm was infectious.

Never Again!
I booked this tour 10 days out. I was texted the day before my 9:00am only had me and they were cancelling it. I was given the choice of joining the 3pm tour which I took. I asked where it was, told I would be sent information. I never received it. I did text operator at 2:50 when I couldn’t find your guide. I was told it was at different location. I had to run there and arrived to a guide that didn’t know who I was. Several calls later by me and guide to provider caused me to be totally stressed. One lady asked when this was going to be resolved as she was from a cruise ship with limited time. I quit at that point and asked for a refund. The provider apologized but I was upset as I lost a day on a tour that had changed locations, time and come to find out I didn’t have the Dubrovnik Pass because I wasn’t told to buy one. Total cost was 100 Euro to climb 1084 Stairs and 2 km, no thanks! Never again!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding your booking. Your original 9:00 AM tour could not operate due to not meeting the minimum number of participants required. To avoid cancelling your experience completely, we offered you the option to join the 3:00 PM tour, which you confirmed. Following your confirmation, we sent all details including the meeting location, a YouTube link for easy navigation, and a reminder to bring your Dubrovnik Pass or city walls ticket — which is clearly stated in the tour description as not included. You also confirmed receipt of this information. According to our guide and the other guests, the rest of the group had an enjoyable and smooth experience. Unfortunately, your behavior at the meeting point was very disrespectful toward the guide and other participants. The issue arose only because you had not read the tour information regarding the separate entry ticket. This could have been resolved politely on site, as we always aim to assist our guests with understanding entry requirements. We made every effort to accommodate you, ensuring you could still take part in the tour rather than cancelling your booking entirely. However, given the manner in which you treated our staff and other guests, we would not feel comfortable welcoming you again on our tours. We stand by the professionalism of our team and the accuracy of the information provided. Kind regards

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
City Walls of Dubrovnik: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dubrovnik.
How much does City Walls of Dubrovnik cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dubrovnik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does City Walls of Dubrovnik take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dubrovnik is not rushed.
Is City Walls of Dubrovnik worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 74 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dubrovnik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule City Walls of Dubrovnik?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is City Walls of Dubrovnik suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book City Walls of Dubrovnik?
+
Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dubrovnik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dubrovnik and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does City Walls of Dubrovnik start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dubrovnik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dubrovnik?
+
On Outty we rank every Dubrovnik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dubrovnik: Game of Thrones Walking Tour, Panorama Zipline Experience in Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik: 7 Caves & Blue Cave Speedboat Tour (4h). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dubrovnik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dubrovnik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
