Very good tour, but lay off the hard-sell and the nationalism

I took the 1 day tour of Galilee/Nazareth with this company, and overall I had a very positive experience, and I thought it was good value for money - with a few caveats. First, the good points; everything was exactly as advertised, we left on time and arrived on time. We saw all the key places in Galilee, we had abundant time, the lunch (not included in the price) was good, and the tour guide Dan P was really informative - I was dazzled by the amount of information he provided about locations such as Emmaus, for example. For less than $100, it was a really excellent tour overall, and I felt it gave a very good impression of that part of the world. 2 negative points; the 'shopping stops' in Nazareth and the Jordan river baptism site were un-necessary and too long, I felt. No need for the 'hard-sell' like this on a day tour costing $100. And secondly, athough Dan was a genial, informative and kind guide, I really wish he didn't repeatedly say things like, 'I love my country, Israel', 'I am really proud of Israel', 'I think Israel is the greatest country in the world', etc. Given the controversial nature of the Israel/Palestine situation, UN condemnations of Israeli settlements, etc., this was really not needed. Not meaning to sound too critical, because he really was an excellent guide, but lay off the nationalism juice, Dan!

Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your sincere praise on our tour and your guide Dan P. He is indeed worthy of the honorable mention and deserves such compliments for his efforts, professionalism and his wealth of knowledge that he shares with his travelers. All embossed with a passion and personal spice.Dan is known to be very passionate about his work and and his love of this country. Both attributes that certainly enhance him being an outstanding tourguide. so we see this as added attirbutes to his dedicated performance. Sorry ,but tactfully we are sure you understand we will not react to your personal impression of and interpretation of his sentiments expressed. The stops at the shop in Nazereth is mainly for the bathroom , and at Jordan River ,Yardenit there is no other way to access the Baptismal site. You are not in any way obligated to purchase anything, but it is a walkthrough to the riverside pavillion. We are glad though that you came away enlgihtened from the region visited.

You’ve Malachi

Our guide today, Yoav Malachi, is about the best I’ve ever had, including tours in Europe. He provides the historical context of what we are seeing and is both knowlegeable and respectful of the significance of the site. He also chooses the best of the best. Plus, he levens the information with humor where appropriate.

Response from the operator: Thanks for this rave review of your guide Yoav, and our tour operations. He sure deserves such feedback for the professional and great job he does with hs travel groups. All that you described is him!!, his friendly manner and engaging personality for all , spiced with humor. We are happy to read that Bein Harim provided a tour experience you will always remember and with such superlatives. Hope to see you again some time, there is lots more to explore with us.

Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jerusalem.

How much does Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem cost?

+

Prices start at $104 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jerusalem usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jerusalem is not rushed.

Is Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jerusalem, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jerusalem can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jerusalem and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Christian Gems Around the Sea of Galilee from Jerusalem start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jerusalem within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Jerusalem?

+

On Outty we rank every Jerusalem experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jerusalem Boutique Tour from Tel Aviv, Travel to Bethlehem Half Day Guided Tour from Jerusalem, Jerusalem: Dual Narrative Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jerusalem?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jerusalem?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
