Fernanda Rocks! Wonderful trip

I had an incredible experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to my guide, Fernanda. She made everything feel easy, engaging, and genuinely special from beginning to end. Seeing Christ the Redeemer in person was breathtaking and absolutely lived up to expectations. I ended up enjoying Sugarloaf Mountain even more. The views were unforgettable, and the whole experience felt richer because of Fernanda’s knowledge and the way she shared it. Fernanda was wonderful. She brought such a natural warmth and energy to the tour and made it feel personal without trying too hard. It really would not have been the same without her. I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. She made the experience.

Unsavory start but good end

We opted to take a private tour which cost us multiple over than the normal price for this tour in order to meet our ship departure time. Unfortunately, the day before the scheduled day for the tour. the operator contested that that the tour was private and was planning on having another guest on the tour with us to which we objected. He later apologized after we have told him how much we had paid for this tour when then he redeemed the situation by sending on a private taxi with its nice guide driver. Thereafter, the tour proceeding very well.. The pre-start was unsavory but the end was good. The communication between Viator and its operator should have been clear in the first place. Another issue we had with this booking was that Viator had charged our card the full amount not passing on the 5% discount on the other tour as shown on their confirmation. Must do better

What happened in this case is both simple and serious: The client customized conditions directly with Viator, through your sales and support channels. Those conditions were never communicated to the local operator at any stage. Lacking a proper channel to complain about Viator itself, the client ended up misusing the operator’s review page as a platform to criticize Viator. This is unacceptable. The review does not address failures in local service delivery, guiding, transportation, or tour execution. On the contrary: the tour was delivered the service was successfully completed the experience was upgraded to a private vehicle and dedicated professional guide, at no additional cost the guide provided excellent service, acknowledged during the tour itself Despite this, our company was penalized for issues that originated exclusively on Viator’s side, including: sales conduct internal communication failures unauthorized customization billing and discount handling Trip in Rio was not part of these negotiations, was not informed, and did not authorize any customization beyond the officially booked product. Formal operator position Due to the recurring nature of these situations, we hereby register our formal position: Trip in Rio will no longer accept customizations made by Viator without prior formal communication and written confirmation Any tour that deviates from the scope, schedule, or conditions stated in the official booking will be subject to cancellation The operator cannot and will not absorb reputational damage resulting from internal platform failures Maintaining reviews like this demonstrates a lack of protection for local operators and undermines any claim of partnership. We formally request that this review be: removed, or clearly disassociated from the operator’s profile As it refers exclusively to Viator’s processes, not to the operator’s service. This was an awesome experience

The Christ Redeemer statue. The tour guy was exceptional in accommodating the group and giving clear history of the various sight.

Super surprise gem for Americans

I had an extra day at the end of my business trip and tried to make the most of it despite the terrible weather that caused another operator to cancel a similar tour. Ederson was the guide and the owner of Trip in Rio. Since the others on this tour had postponed due to the weather, he contacted me and made sure I still got to see the sites. He personally drove me to these places and was the best guide I've ever had. He knows everybody - all of the drivers, facility staff, vendors. AMAZING! A very friendly and popular guy. His English speaking was on the level of native - very helpful for an American. He made sure my tour was wonderful. I will definitely book with Trip in Rio next time when I bring my wife.
