Chongqing Dazzling by night

Chongqing is a fairy city at night. Very colourful, dazzling and large crowds in major tourist attractions. Lots of walking on this tour - up steps and down so make sure you have good walking shoes and lots of energy! Guide picked us up from the hotel in a private car. My wife and I are past mid 60s and we found this tour tiring walking from midday to 8pm up and down stairs puching along with the crowds in some places.! Of course we were on the train that entered Liziba station and the guide got us to stand right in front of the train. We also visited the Hongya cave in the evening. The crowds were overwhelming and it was difficult to get a photo. We were hungry during lunch and the guide took us to a local shop where we sampled authentic Chongqing food - see pics. All in all very interesting tour but lots of walking. Can be tiring if you're not used to it.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience! 😊 We’re really glad you enjoyed discovering the magic of Chongqing — especially its stunning night views and unique landmarks like Liziba Station and Hongyadong. It truly is a vibrant and unforgettable city! We also appreciate your honest feedback about the walking and crowds. Chongqing’s mountainous terrain and lively atmosphere can indeed be a bit challenging, especially during peak hours. We always do our best to pace the tour comfortably and create moments to rest and enjoy along the way. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we’re happy you got to experience authentic local food and some of the city’s most iconic sights. For future travelers — if you're looking for a unique, energetic, and truly one-of-a-kind city experience, Chongqing is definitely worth exploring. And we’ll be here to make your journey as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

How many days do you need in Chongqing?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
