What you'll see and do

  1. Jiefangbei Square

We'll get started at 0800am from hotel by haveing a local breakfast, please skip your hotel breakfast for this. In Chongqing our local dudes love either noodles or dumplings for the very first meal of a day, kind of like a routine procedure to open up a brand new day, and spicy flavor will always be the most popular option. Total unlike northern China, Chongqing noodles are famous for it's strong and flavorable experience, more than 15 different seasonings are the highlight and spirit and also pretty much matches the local climate-humid and hot. Dumplings will be pork stuffed, we do it with soup, and the history might goes back like 1'000 years ago, but it tastes still so fresh and tasty as the No.2 favorate breakfast option here in Chongqing. Our travelers might choose either spicy or non, noodles with minced pork and soy bean sauce or non-spicy dumplings with chicken soup will be recommended, they are really good.

  2. Then we'll show you around this unique hilly city, first stop will be Xia-Hao-Lane, an old neighborhood by Yangtze River side with nice city view, it's the old version of Chongqing, also a cool place to learn the old time life style. The hostory of this area goes back like 2'000 years, we'll see lots historic architectures roughly 200 years old, it will be a lovely exploring tour with our guide in those complicated small alleys and hidden stairways inside. And definately this is also a place meets up our theme-food, we'll show you different types of local snacks, mostly are tasty, some might be weird but pretty much unique. It's also a nice stop for photo takers, don't forget charging your devices priorly. Will be some walking here and moderate fitness required, and it will be lots fun to have.

  3. Danzishi Old Street Scenic Area

Then we'll move on to our next stop, Dan-Dzi-Shi Old Street. It was the former French colony like 150 years ago, right now the No.1 viewing site for the splendid entire city view, right across Yangtze River from the original downtown Chongqing. We'll be here for the nice city view, our travelers will have a total new concept of this huge metropolis in western China. And of course we'll also stick to our food theme, we'll explore a local food court try to learn more about our foodie culture. This is also a tricky-floor building and there's only one way to find out. There's still a former French Marines Camp nearby which is now a exotic big French Bar, might plan it in your night view tour. We might do Chongqing City Planning Exhibition Gallery instead depends on the weather or our travelers fitness, will be a friendly move in rainy days for it's mainly indoor activities.

  4. Now it's our lunch time, we'll do our lunch at a local neighborhood restaurant, a hidden but popular one in downtown Chongqing. Will try typical Chongqing family cuisines which is what we exactly eat at home everyday. It's just a local foodie dudes favorate place. There's been a huge misunderstanding about Sichuan or Chongqing food, all believe that everything must come after crazy spicy, well, let'w show our travelers what would be the genuine Chongqing cuisines, we can do non-spicy and tasty as well. The meal won't be fancy, it's the real indigenous local food. Won't be weirdo food concern here, either pork, chicken, beef, fish, tofu and fresh vegs, normal food only. The iconic steamed pork ribs with sticky rice and pumpkin will be highly recommended. Bon appetite!
