Get the most out of your visit to Colombia with this two-in-one combo farm tour! Share with real coffee and cacao farmers as you pick, peel, grind, roast and taste the product of your own labor. This is a hands-on experience spending your day at real, small family-owned farms. This tour does not take you to commercial mega plantations. What you'll see and do
Silvania
Here you will visit a traditional coffee farm for about 1.5 hours where you will collect coffee beans from the field, you will grind them and peel them using manual, old fashion tools. Finally, the local host will prepare a traditional "tinto" or black coffee for you to sample.

Cerro de Quinini
A traditional campesino (farmer) lunch is served here surrounded by the sounds of nature. All plates are vegetarian. The home belongs to one of the community members and it is not a full time restaurant. The place is clean and simple, devoid of any luxury.

Nilo
Here you will visit a traditional cacao farm for about 1.5 hour where you will see the cacao beans hanging from the trees. Your host will open the bean for you to taste the fruit's content. You will then visit the fermentation room, the drying room and see the final product of the cacao process. If time allows, you can also experience the grinding of the cacao from hard shell to liquid form which is the raw material for all chocolate produced in the world.

Im glad i didnt miss this opportunity!
Enjoyed the trip a lot. The vegetarian lunch was delicious. The views were incredible. The farmers showed us incredible hospitality. Both at the cacao farm and the coffee farm, we got to do small scale trial run of the whole process. Also got to buy some really tase coffee and cacao products. Our bilingual guide was helpful, knowledgeable, and approachable. Wear breathable long sleeve/pants, use hiking boots, put on sun screen (even if you have darker skin, its high altitude), and bring a big hand towel if you are a sweat prone person. I was fine, but for somebody who is not used to high elevation or mountain roads, it will be good to be prepared with medicine for car/altitude sickness. Guide is very approachable and you can ask for a stop if needed, too.

Wonderful day trip
Diego and Hector were very good guides and we enjoyed spending the day with them. Diego helped us to connect with local farm owners and with our limited Spanish we were worried we wouldn’t get to do so. Would recommend to anyone who would like to experience some of the more hidden areas of Colombia on their visit here. Would choose this company again.

Carlito and Ms Estella were brilliant!!!
From Carlito opening up his home to us to patiently explaining and letting us tinker around with all the equipments and the coffee-making process to Ms Estella showing us the cacao process, laughing at all our dad jokes, we felt so welcomed! Kind people, enriching and a truly homely experience! Diego and Hector were so lovely! Diego answered all our questions with the same enthusiasm from 7am till he dropped us off at 8pm! Driving along the valleys overlooking the Andes mountain felt like a dream and the kind of profound experience that was needed for us! Thank you so much! 10/10 recommend!!

BEST Bogota birthday experience for our Family
Wonderful experience with our family. We had first time riders, our young daughters 10 and 7 (birthday girl) with us and the experience was the perfect speed and friendliness. For the horseback riding, it was private and felt special. Andres was extremely helpful and even invited us to visit the coffee farm the next day because we had mentioned we wanted an authentic coffee experience but was turned off from the super touristy (factories). He accommodated our needs, with kids, and made it happen for us last minute! The children loved learning the entire process from farm to coffee cup. It was a completely interactive experience and the farm is BEAUTIFUL. We couldn’t have asked for a more special time. And after we drank the coffee we helped make, it was INCREDIBLE. The best we’ve ever tasted. We’re so glad we did it! And lunch was yummy! The drive is long but worth it and if you can dedicate a day- do it!

An amazing tour
I was picked up from my hotel in Parque 93, the guide was very knowledgeable and an excellent translator. The coffee farm tour was brilliant we went and picked the coffee berries, shedded the outer skins. I was then shown how they are dried, we then removed the husks of some dry beans to show a green coffee bean, which were roasted to make fresh coffee. The chocolate farm tour was also outstanding looking at different varieties of cacao trees, how the cacao is processed into a product. Definitely worth doing this tour.
