What you'll see and do

  1. Downtown Punta Cana

Welcome to our chocaci House. As the name says is a Dominicantipical house. In this experience, you'll learn step-by-step how coffee, cocoa, and tobacco are made. You'll learn about the plant, see how it's fermented, learn how to roast coffee and cocoa, grind it, and then we'll make coffee in the typical Dominican style, as well as delicious hot chocolate straight from the cocoa. If you smoke, we'll also teach you how to roll a cigar using one of our plants. And you can smoke the same one you made.

Tour didn't include what was advertised.

A company representative called us the morning 2 hours before the tour to tell us that the plantation part of the tour had to be canceled, but we could still do the horseback riding. We were more interested in the plantation part of the tour, so we cancelled the whole tour. It would have been nice if they would have notified us a few days before the tour or a day before the tour.

Great value but not quite what I was expecting

Our group enjoyed interacting with Wazcar and Sara. They were both lovely. This tour involved roasting coffee beans and chocolate. We made both types of drinks. It was not quite what I was expecting based on other similar tours I have participated in. I had thought we would be shown what coffee plants and cacao trees would look like and the process from start to finish. While I know this information already, my tour mates had not experienced this. There are no coffee or cacao trees on the plantation since a damaging hurricane. All that we were told is that the beans dry for around 2 weeks or longer if it rains. If you are looking for a hands on experience of actually roasting, shelling, and making the drinks, this tour will satisfy that. If you are looking for more information about the process, you may want to look at a different tour.

Not describe as tour content

I visited this farm, and it was completely different from the description. The main selling points are supposed to be hands-on experience with coffee and rolling cigars, plus horse riding and visiting a beach. But clearly, at least half of the advertised activities were not as promised. It’s more horse riding experience only. The horse riding part was especially disappointing—nothing like the photos. The horses looked very unhealthy but it’s professional walking, and the experience overall was terrible. During the one-hour ride, I only spent about 15-20 minutes on the beach; the beach is full on plastic bottles , the rest of the time was just on cross the farmland with trees before reached to beach. On top of that, I got bitten by dozens of insects in the forest, and the bites are still bothering me now. I would not recommend if you intend to be coffee tour, it’s more horsing riding and they want you to shopping in ranch.

Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation) cost?

+

Prices start at $18 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation) take?

+

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation) worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 43 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation)?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation) suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation)?

+

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation) start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

+

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave, Small Group Buggy Tour to Water Cave and Macao Beach. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Chocaci House Punta Cana (coffee, chocolate and cigar plantation)?

+
