Chobe NP Guided Game drive, Game Cruise & Lunch Safari

The guide is knowledgeable and the duration of each parts is well-balanced. I will join again if I have another chance to visit VF.

Best Day ever!

This game drive was a highlight of our trip. Pick up was on time & well organised by Rockfowl Safaris. We were chaperoned through immigration checkpoints in both Zimbabwe & Botswana where our guide was waiting for us. We had the best day ever and were blown away by the extra touches which we were not expecting such as morning tea refreshments which included snacks & drinks & further refreshments were served on the cruise on the Chobe River. We had the most amazing lunch at Ku Muzi Boma - it was delicious. We saw so many animals (kudu, elephants, giraffes & a lion) - such a different environment on the water compared to other safaris. A must do activity

Me and Robin my son had great experience of the Chobe NP and game drive and game cruise on 26 Sept 2026. The event was well organised with smooth transfers and knowledgeable guide. We got to see lots of the game animals including 4 of the big 5. Lunch at Kamuzi was great. The 10hrs activities was worth the time and the money. I recommend Rockfowl Safaris for any activities aa they are well organised. Keep the good work up👍👍👍

Worthy safe experience

It was a great experience. The guides and drivers were very supportive and respectful. Safe for a solo traveler.

Too crowded; Poor Guide

We were picked up at the hotel and drove about an hour to the border with 9 other people. It took an hour to complete processing at the border. After another 30-minute drive we reached the park. We were then handed off to our game drive driver Jinx. Our open vehicle had 9 people in it. Jinx was a very poor guide. He did not provide a safety brief except to be quiet around the animals. He drove very fast and poorly causing a very rough and dangerous ride for the passengers. He drove past multiple animals without stopping for photos. He explained very little about the animals and didn’t provide the names for some of them. When there were multiple vehicles at an animal sighting he parked behind other vehicles and made no effort to move so we could take photos. When we stopped for a rest break he told us to use the “bush” if we needed to use the bathroom. When we all were ready to leave, he ignored us and continued to talk to the other drivers for several more minutes. Despite our poor guide we managed to see large herds of elephants, a lion and cubs, kudu, impala, giraffe and a variety of birds. The game drive lasted about 2.5 hours with a 20-minute break after about an hour. After the game drive we were taken to a hotel where we a had buffet lunch for an hour. There was a large selection of food that was above average in quality. The food was included in the cost but you had to pay for something to drink. After lunch we were taken to a dock area on the Chobe River where we got on a boat with about 20 people for a 2.5-hour river cruise. This was significantly better than the morning game drive. When animals were spotted the boat captain either slowed down or pulled into shore for photos. We saw many animals: large elephant herds, 3 large bull elephants, hippos, crocodiles, kudu, impala, water buffalo, waterbuck and a variety of birds. The problem with this Chobe tour is that everything is on a strict time schedule. There are 10-20 safari vehicles all doing the same basic tour. They have a couple of hours for a game drive in the morning and then you must be at lunch at a specific time. As a result, there is a limited distance you can travel and the vehicles all go to the same areas making it very crowded. It can be very difficult to take photos of the animals. The river cruise in the afternoon is less congested and more relaxing. There are multiple small boats on the river but the river is so large there is much less congestion.
