    Amazing Private Tour

We had a really amazing day on our private tour of Chichen Itza, cenote and Valladolid. We are a family of four and were picked up on time directly from our hotel by Alfredo (driver) and Norma (guide). Norma was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable about the Mayan civilisation and very friendly. Throughout the day Alfredo offered us drinks and snacks and always made sure the minibus was air conditioned. We could go at our own pace and avoid the crowds which meant we arrived at Chichen Itza and the cenote before they became busy. We would highly recommend GVC to others.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed your private tour and that Norma and Alfredo helped make the day so special. It’s great to know you appreciated the flexibility, comfort, and early visits to avoid the crowds. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure!

    Ek Balam and Cenote

Chichen Itza was closed so we went to Ek Balam. We were able to climb the structures and learned a lot about the culture on the drive out! The Cenote was very refreshing as a long hot walk. Lunch was avg at best. The driver was very cautious and our guide was very knowledgeable. The price is a bit spendy, but we were not jammed in a hot bus and could control our AC and move on our achedule.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re happy you enjoyed Ek Balam, the cenote, and learning about the culture with our knowledgeable guide. We also appreciate your feedback about lunch and are glad you valued the comfort, flexibility, and professional service throughout the tour. We hope to see you again soon!

    Outstanding private tour!

Victor Manuel was our guide for a college-style seminar on Mayan culture and native migrations, and the experience began the moment we got into the car. From the very start, he brought the history to life—engaging, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable. What truly set the day apart was how attuned he was to my two children. He struck that rare balance of making the material intellectually rich while keeping it accessible and interesting for them. It felt like a perfectly curated experience for both adults and kids. The entire day was seamless. Eduardo, our driver, was superb—professional, safe, and courteous throughout. All in all, it was a perfect day. I couldn’t have asked for more and would highly recommend this team to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We’re truly delighted to hear that you and your family had such a meaningful experience with Victor Manuel and Eduardo. It means a lot to us that the tour felt engaging, educational, and enjoyable for both you and your children—that balance is exactly what we strive for. We’re especially grateful for your recognition of the care, professionalism, and passion our team brings to each experience. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we hope to welcome you again in the future for another memorable day.

Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit cost?

    +

Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 216 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit?

    +

Around 76 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chichen Itza Private Tour plus Cenote and Valladolid Visit start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
