Great experience
Andres was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable, professional and experienced. He gave us time to enjoy the natural wonders of the park. Additionally very informative on the ride there and back about Bogota and Colombia.

Friendly guides
I thought this would be a group tour, turns out it was just the guide, the driver and I. Camilo and Hector were friendly, informative and they picked me up from the place I was staying
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re glad the hike turned out to be more personal than expected and that you enjoyed spending the time exploring the cloud forest one-on-one. Camilo and Hector will be happy to hear that their knowledge and friendliness stood out. We always aim to make getting there and back as easy as possible, so we’re glad the pickup worked well for you. Thank you for choosing to explore Chicaque with us — it’s a special place, and we’re happy you got to experience it at your own pace.

Worth it!
We went on a 2 day tour. On the first we drove from Bogota and hiked in the Chicaque reservation. The hike was lovely and not too difficult if you are in decent shape. We slept there overnight in a lovely wood cabin with a fireplace overlooking the the forest and mountains. It was amazing to wake up there and see the birds and animals from our porch. On the second day we went to a coffee farm for an immersive coffee experience where we picked, peeled, ground and toasted our own coffee! . The owner and his wife were so welcoming and as an added bonus they have a bird feeder that hosts several species of finches in beautiful colors, a real treat for bird and coffee enthusiasts. Our guide Diego was wonderful! So knowledgeable about the plants and wildlife and just a general nice guy that loves people and nature.

Incredible Location & Deeply Knowledgeable Guides
We had the gorgeous cloud forest almost entirely to ourselves, it is a beautiful park (a private park accessible to the public) with lots of birds. My guide was Camilo and Héctor was my driver. My travel partner has twisted his ankle so I went on this trip by myself (solo female) and I felt completely safe. I speak Spanish but I did choose the English guide option and Camilo and I conversed in both languages. Camilo and Hector were both incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, landscape, and local communities in and around Bogota and the cloud forest - they answered all of my million questions. The hike itself was mostly difficult because of the elevation.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.
How much does Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.
Is Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 9. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike - 4 hours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bogotá?
+
On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria., Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Viejo Bogota Food Tour with 12+ Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bogotá?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bogotá?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
