DONT FALL FOR THE SALES LIE

We went on a wine tasting here, which began pleasantly and was very interactive. However, ultimately you are there for them to try to sell their products to you. We were promised a free bottle of wine with our purchase. We were generous in our purchases, spending €150 on wine, oil and balsamic vinegar. However, when receiving the package today there was no free wine. It is a sales technique to entice you in but with no truth. We’re disappointed and feel we have been scammed by the winery just to get us to purchase more. There was also an additional customs fee, which they said was included in the price. Please reconsider visiting this winery or purchasing anything from them as their sales technique and lie will entice you in but they will not follow up on their promises.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry for your disappointment and want to understand exactly what happened. Please write to customercare@poggioailaghi.com so we can review your order together. Regarding customs fees, we inform guests at checkout, but we sincerely apologize for any confusion. We want to make things right. Best regards, Customer Care

    AVOID THIS TOURIST SCAM!

At the end of the very quick wine tasting, they pressure you into buying their very expensive products, assuring you that you don’t have to worry about paying the duties & taxes for shipping overseas. That is fully their biggest selling point. Well that is not the case, as I have been harassed for the remainder of my trip by UPS about needing to pay extra fees in order for my package to be released and the winery refuses to take responsibility. They told me that I signed an agreement stating that I would take care of these, which I probably didn’t read correctly after they made sure I was drunk enough to fall for this scam. Just don’t go to this place, and if you end up here through organized tour, don’t buy a single thing as they’ve proven to have no problem taking advantage of people. Truly shameful.

Response from the operator: We are very sorry to hear that your experience has left you feeling this way, and that you are facing unexpected hurdles with your shipment. Dealing with international customs and delivery fees can be incredibly stressful, especially while traveling. We want to clarify that while we cover the standard freight shipping costs from our end, international customs duties, local state taxes, and carrier brokerage fees (like those charged by UPS) are determined entirely by the destination country's government. Because these regulations are complex and fluctuate, customs authorities require the importer of record (the recipient) to clear these final local fees. This is why we include this information on our shipping order forms before finalizing any purchase. That said, we take your feedback regarding our hospitality very seriously. Our goal is always to provide a relaxed, transparent, and educational tasting experience. We never want a guest to feel pressured, let alone taken advantage of. We would like to look into your specific order and see if there is any way we can assist you with UPS. Please contact our management team directly at customercare@poggioailaghi.com with your order number and a copy of the UPS fee breakdown so we can review your case. We enjoy of the meal and degustation of different wines, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The starter was really good with the intro of the tasting, I want to emphasise in staff’s attention, Mary, the waiter and Marco (the boy with glasses, I can’t remember well if it was his name, sorry). The main dish and the dessert was a little bit disappointing. Great experience, nice views, good vibes. Gracias!!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We are thrilled you enjoyed the starter, wine tasting, and the attentive service from Mary and our team member. We’ll be sure to pass along your compliments! We appreciate your honest note about the main dish and dessert, as it helps us improve. We're glad the great views and vibes still made for a memorable experience. ¡Gracias! Warm regards, Lucia Customer Care

Bright airy wine tasting with good wines, oils

Cute, clean and modern set up with friendly staff and good wines, olive oils and balsamics. Sparkling, chiantis and sparkling by rose all good. My favorite was the super Tuscan. The white truffle olive oil and the spicy olive oil both were standouts. Nice experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much! We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed our modern setup and friendly staff. It’s wonderful that you loved our wines—especially the Super Tuscan—as well as our standout truffle and spicy olive oils! Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back soon!
