This full-day tour features some of the most beautiful natural sights on the highest mountain in Northern Thailand. Visit the beautiful Wachirathan waterfall, one of the highlights of Doi Inthanon National Park and the most impressive of all the waterfalls in Chiang Mai. Because of the incredible height, the waterfall creates a mist in the surrounding, making it a picturesque sight. Together with the mossy rocks and emerald water it gives this place a magical atmosphere. There’s a colorful rainbow appearing in front of the waterfall every time the sun is shining through the mist which makes it a very photogenic spot. Ban Mae Klang Luang
Visit the Karen village Baan Mae Klang Luang, named after the Mae Klang river. Nestled in the stunning mountainous setting of Doi Inthanon, this village is surrounded by brilliant green forests, lush rice terraces and verdant coffee fields. In Mae Klang Luang, opium cultivation was the main source of income not too long ago. The Thai government has fought against opium farming among the hill tribes of Northern Thailand for decades, and nowadays the local population earns most of their income from farming, supplemented by tourism. Baan Mae Klang Luang is well known for its coffee crop. Of course you are welcome to sample the locally grown and freshly roasted coffee. Please note that the duration includes travel time between the various stops within the park, and also from Doi Inthanon National Park back to Chiang Mai.

Great Tour with an Awesome Guide and Driver
We had a wonderful day at Doi Inthanon with our guide, Nancy, and our driver, Hero. We started at beautiful Mae Klang Waterfall and also visited Wachirathan Waterfall, stopped for a beautiful view over rice fields, and visited the summit of Doi Inthanon, the highest point in Thailand. I especially enjoyed the wooden nature trail through the misty forest. Nancy explained how moisture collects in the trees and eventually feeds the waterfalls below, which made the walk much more interesting. The King and Queen Pagodas were impressive even though the mist limited the views, and the interiors were stunning. I also really enjoyed walking through the Karen village, where we saw a woman weaving, people building a house by hand, and other aspects of everyday village life before tasting locally grown tea and coffee. Nancy was knowledgeable throughout the day and very good at explaining the history, culture, and nature of the places we visited. More importantly, she paid attention to the people in her group and adjusted to what they needed. When I was having some difficulty with the walking, she was exceptionally kind and helpful. Hero was also excellent and very accommodating, even holding an umbrella for us in the rain. Their thoughtfulness really showed at the end of the day. As we were discussing where they should drop me off, I mentioned that I needed to find a pharmacy but didn't know of one near my hotel. I wasn't actually asking them to take me to one, but before I knew it, Hero had spotted a pharmacy along our route and stopped for me. Nancy came inside with me and helped with translation, and Hero waited for us. They then drove me directly to my hotel. Nancy and Hero were excellent hosts as well as guide and driver. Their knowledge, flexibility, and genuine attention to their guests made this a memorable day and a tour I would highly recommend.

Fun & comfortable!
This was a great experience! Pick up was from hotel, out guide Nancy was very knowledgeable and kind. The van has AC and is very comfortable (it is not an open back jeep). The tour also had a good pace. Would recommend!
