Dinner with a side of northern Thai culture
I had already tried plenty of Thai food, but the Khantoke format was new to me. Combining dinner with a cultural show made the evening more interesting than simply choosing another restaurant in Chiang Mai. I especially enjoyed being able to watch the performance while settling into the meal. The experience felt designed for visitors, which may not appeal to everyone, yet it gave this first-time traveler an accessible introduction to northern Thai traditions. A pleasant evening when you want food and culture together.
