Big fish in a small pond

Hello all, my son is a big fishing nut…like me wanted to catch fish in Chiang Mai. We decided to book this trip and I really did not know what to expect. We were here just before the Thai New Year (beginning of April) it was hot. We booked through the Viator app and arrived at the fish park just before 9 am. Our guide was late….but… it really did not matter. He showed us the best place in the park to go and baited us up. My son, 12, caught the first fish and it was a monster (about 80 lbs). Lunch was amazingly good. Wonderful mix of good easy Thai dishes with wonderful flavor. After lunch, we caught some more monsters and we got tired. By we I mean my son. All in all, my son caught 2 80 lbs and 1 90 lbs. I caught a couple 80 pounders and we both caught many in the 30-50 range. If you are wanting to caught fish and have a great time with adults or kids who love to fish…this is the place in Chiang Mai. Have fun and tight lines!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing such a detailed and thoughtful review. We are truly delighted to hear that you and your son had such a memorable fishing experience in Chiang Mai. We also sincerely appreciate your understanding regarding the delayed start with your guide. While we always aim to be punctual, we’re glad it did not affect your overall enjoyment of the day. Your kind feedback means a lot to our team, and we’re very happy to hear that the experience was enjoyable for both adults and children. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family again in the future for another great day of fishing. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Chiang Mai Fishing Park Day with Round Trip Pickup cost?

    +

How long does Chiang Mai Fishing Park Day with Round Trip Pickup take?

    +

Is Chiang Mai Fishing Park Day with Round Trip Pickup worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chiang Mai Fishing Park Day with Round Trip Pickup?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chiang Mai Fishing Park Day with Round Trip Pickup suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chiang Mai Fishing Park Day with Round Trip Pickup?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 7.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chiang Mai Fishing Park Day with Round Trip Pickup start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

    +

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
