It's worth doing

I loved the walk. Punctual guide, friendly and attentive. Only complaint is that we booked the tour in Spanish and came guide in English. We did it just pq I speak English but my husband didn't... so he ended up not understanding deeply in real time.

Response from the operator: Muito obrigado pelo seu comentário!

Highly recommended excursion

This excursion was well organized. Our guide Mr. Two looked after us very attentively and competently. Also the car ride was very pleasant in the small van. Being able to experience the temple on the mountain at sunset was a wonderful experience.

Amazing experience during the sunset

The transportation was in time and very good. Unfortunately our guide wasn’t very competent or reliable. The few facts provided about beautiful historical sites were in primitive style. We were Just transported not got guided tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. While we’re glad the transportation was timely, we sincerely apologize for the issues with the guiding experience. Visit but choose another co

I’m not saying don’t visit just think twice before booking with this company. We were told they couldn’t collect us from our hotel and gave us a meeting point 20mins walk/a taxi ride away (after accepting our booking). We dutifully arrived before the 4pm pick up time. At 4.25 they WhatsApped to say if would be 4.40. When I said they had told us 4 they tried to say we told you 4.15-4.35. I sent them a copy of their message confirming 4pm. At the same time, by email via Viator, they claimed to be nearly there. Then they said pick up was 4-4.30 (by email). By WhatsApp they were being quite rude. The bus finally turned up at 4.50. The guide was ok. Gave some history on the bus before we arrived - just basic. Took us around the first stop. Saw us into Doi Suthep & up for views of the city. It’s not a great sunset but views are pleasant enough. He didn’t give us any info in the temple, we just wandered around. It was busy but it’s a tourist attraction! I just found the attitude of the company rude & didn’t like the double handed way they communicated. Left a sour taste.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologized for all of this. We are committed to improving our services to provide a better experience for our customers. Regarding pick-up arrangements outside the old city, we will ensure clear communication about the designated pick-up point to avoid any confusion. We understand the variability in pick-up times due to traffic conditions and will continue to provide updates to customers accordingly. Additionally, we appreciate the clarification about the tour itinerary, including the visit to Wat Doi Suthep and Wat Pha Lat for city views, not including the sunset view. Regarding communication and information for tours and providing guide information, we will take it into consideration and improve it to better than before.Thank you very much for your support.

Must do in the evening

I enjoyed Wat Pha Lat more than Doi Suthep. I totally recommend doing this tour in the evening as there are over 300+ steps to walk to the top of Doi Suthep which was quite a challenge to walk but in the daytime heat it would have been worse. View in great from the top. Sadly the main pagoda is undergoing construction so cannot capture the true beauty of it. At Wat Pha Lat it was very calming and serene and lovely to see the monks chanting at prayer time.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review. We appreciated.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Chiang Mai: Evening Tour to Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lat cost?

+

Prices start at $700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chiang Mai: Evening Tour to Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lat take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.

Is Chiang Mai: Evening Tour to Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lat worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chiang Mai: Evening Tour to Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lat?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chiang Mai: Evening Tour to Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lat suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chiang Mai: Evening Tour to Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lat?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chiang Mai: Evening Tour to Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lat start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

+

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
