Disappointed

The tour was cancelled due to one of the sites being shut down. Waiting in my refund. It would have been nice if they offered something else.

Tour guide Som, helped a lot

The tour was superbly organized. Som wrote me what's app messages to meet at hotel lobby. She and the driver turned up on time to pick us up. At the Bhubing palace, we walked around the lovely gardens. Som helped my father, who is 84years and finds it difficult to climb steps or walk uphill. She personally walked slower and stayed with him, allowing us to go farther and explore more. Som even took pictures of my dad in various places that she later sent me. She made it a really special tour for my dad. At the temple, we took the cable car up, but coming down, Som came back with my dad on the cable car, allowing us to come down the famous serpent (snake) steps. The temple was crowded with worshipers because it was New Years Eve, when many Buddhists go to pray (chant) and worship. It was great seeing those Thai traditions as they were happening. Som did great explaining them to us.

Another bummer

Wish we could have done this. We scheduled ahead of time but never been to Chiang Mai so wasn’t able to schedule the right time and no switching or refund so missed out. Check your hotel before buying ahead of time

Response from the operator: Dear valued customer thanks for your review on trip advisor. Kindly provide your booking number for our reference . You could have opted to cancel the tour to avail the refund. Anyway thanks for booking with us.

Good balance and most enjoyable

This half day tour gave a good balance between receiving lots of information from our guide on the way there, but also free time in the Palace gardens and in the temple to see everything at our own pace. Good value and excellent transport option.

Response from the operator: Your review is greatly appreciated! We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed all that our property has to offer. We hope to welcome you back very soon!

Average visit to a historical place

The visit consisted in the palace plus the temple. The first one is interesting if you like gardens, although they are not that wonderful as others. The temple is definitively worth visiting with some views of Chiang Mai. Regarding to the person in charge of guiding us, during the first visit to the Summer palace we were on our own as she went with another part of the group to visit a tribe (?). She did great during the temple visit.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review , we have noted that with thanks and promise to make it 100 percent perfect .

Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace cost?

+

Prices start at $1353 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.

Is Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chiang Mai Cultural Highlights: Wat Doi Suthep & Phu Ping Palace start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

+

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
