Exceptional Local Experience and Perspective
A wonderful introduction to traditional foods and a market where the locals shop. Andrew was an excellent guide providing history and insights you will not receive on any other tour. I highly recommend this tour, and come hungry as there is a lot of food to sample!

Fantastic tour and memories of Budapest and the Market
Budapest was the first stop my wife and I had on a month long trip through eastern Europe and Scandinavia in May. We booked this tour to try and get some familiarity with the local food in Hungary. Reviewing options on line led us to the market in Budapest as being something to do, and the description of this tour fit the bill. We were surprised that it turned out to be a private tour with just us and Andrew. He took us through all the levels of the market, going over some Hungarian history and history of the market itself while doing so. He also talked about the food choices in the market, and purchased a good number of things for us to try. (Pickled baby watermelon anyone? The Wednesday special of sour cherry and walnut pastry) Fantastic ! We were told to not have breakfast and come hungry… and he was right! We were stuffed by the end of the tour! Andrew also introduced us to a number of merchants as we went around the market, and these folks explained the differences between genuine articles and poorer imitations. We actually ended up going back to the market the next day and purchased some decorations from one of the vendors we were introduced to. Overall, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend Andrew and this tour if you want to get a very good introduction to Hungary and the local cuisine. This tour was part of why we ended up remembering Budapest as the best part of our vacation!

Amazing Tour to see the Real Budapest
Andrew was an absolutely amazing tour guide through the Lehel Market! We felt we got to see the real Budapest and got to try some very authentic Hungarian foods. Andrew always gave us recommendations, but let us choose what we wanted to try (we always went with his recommendations and were never led astray). We left not only extremely full, but with tons of knowledge about Hungarian food and culture. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the real deal! I would happily go on many more tours with Andrew!
