About this experience
This is the real Brooklyn food tour for food lovers, led by a local chef who actually lives and eats here. Discover curated neighborhood spots shaped by the diverse cultures that define Brooklyn’s food scene, including hidden gems you’d likely never find on your own. I’m Nicholas, a private chef with over 20 years in NYC kitchens, from Michelin-starred restaurants to private dining. I’ve spent years living and working in this neighborhood and building relationships with family-run spots we visit. Many stops have deep personal meaning for my wife and me. They’re places I took her when we first started dating to impress her, and they’ve become our family staples. Now we host the tour together on my days off, sharing our love for food and our neighborhood. As we walk through Williamsburg and Greenpoint you’ll see street art, architecture, and cultures that shaped these neighborhoods, but the experience is intentionally food-focused rather than a traditional history tour. Come hungry!

What you'll see and do
Williamsburg
This first part of the tour takes you through a historically Italian neighborhood in Williamsburg, where the homes and streets are as beautiful as the food. You’ll visit an old-school Italian bakery that’s been serving locals since the 1970s—so steeped in cultural significance, you might question whether you’re in Brooklyn or Italy. Then, savor the best pizza in town just a few blocks away, where the flavors speak for themselves. We’ll also stop by a local panini shop for elevated bodega bites—because no NYC street food tour is complete without one—and visit a hidden Middle Eastern gem run by a father-and-son duo serving life-changing halal. All the stops are family-run, beloved by locals, and open secrets most tourists never find. Along the way, you’ll take in the stunning architecture and timeless charm of this vibrant area.
90 minutes here
Greenpoint, with its rich Polish heritage and historic architecture, sets the perfect stage for this part of the tour. We’ll stop at a local donut shop that’s been a neighborhood staple since the 1950s. Then, we’ll head to a Michelin-starred pierogi spot and take our pierogis to McCarren Park, enjoying them in one of NYC’s most classic parks. Perhaps the most interesting part of this tour is the final walk to Bedford Avenue—where you’ll experience the neighborhood’s stunning mix of old-world charm, modern architecture, and vibrant street art. It’s the perfect way to end your Brooklyn food tour.

These north shore Long...
These north shore Long Island ladies had a great afternoon with chef Nicholas and his wife Yoanna. We were taken to local favorites to get a real feel of Williamsburg eats. This is a very interesting couple with great knowledge of the area. Highly recommend!

What fun!
We had a blast. The tour took us to little spots that we wouldn’t have found on our own. We got to try some really great Brooklyn staples at great small shops. Super fun experience.

Excellent food— do come hungry!
The tour was excellent! We had pizza, cannoli, papusas, cheesecake, perogie, subs, and kielbasa. Walked through and past some cool spots. The tour was well timed, took about 3 hours. Some spots you went in and sat, others you grabbed and moved to an outdoor spot. Highly recommend… and you really should come hungry!

Tantalizing food & fun!!
A most fantastic afternoon dining experience. Tantalizing variety of food! Local hosts, Nicholas & Yoh, were the best—gave us great info about the neighborhoods where and around where we ate. The best slice of pizza at Carmine’s! My favorite stop was the chicken shawarma at Pita Palace—divine flavors! Lucky for me and my Polish ancestry, the tour ended at PieZerK for pierogies & kielbasa. I travel the world and a food tour is one of my favorite ways to be initiated to place, people, culture. I highly recommend Coming Hungry—they’ll take great care of you.

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Brooklyn.
How much does Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint cost?
+
Prices start at $98 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Brooklyn usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Brooklyn is not rushed.
Is Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 48 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Brooklyn, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint?
+
Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Brooklyn can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Brooklyn and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chef-Led Brooklyn Street-Food Tour in Williamsburg & Greenpoint start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Brooklyn within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Brooklyn?
+
On Outty we rank every Brooklyn experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Brooklyn Bridge & DUMBO Food Tour: Local Eats & Iconic Views, The Escape Game Brooklyn: Epic 60-Minute Adventures in City Point, Bushwick Street Art Tour and Williamsburg Lifestyle Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Brooklyn?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Brooklyn?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
