Scam
I work at the bar where they are told to show up. Every time without fail, Tour Guide never shows up and people are scammed out of their money. I’ve seen people fly in from out of state to do this particular tour. Really sad please don’t book with them.

No show, no call, no contact whatsoever, asked for refund
My family and I traveled from Florida and North Carolina - we paid a lot of money for these tickets and we were really excited and looking forward to this tour. We waited for over 45 minutes. It was sketchy from the start though, meeting at a Mexican restaurant - none of the staff knew what we were talking about but we waited anyway and got drinks. As time went on we called twice with the call going straight to voicemail. I started a chat through Viatar which concluded we were there on the correct date and at the correct meeting place. We asked for a refund after an hour. I was shocked that NO ONE contacted us to try to make it right. We get it, sometimes things happen and we would have gladly gone another night if we were contacted by someone. But still - to this day, no one has contacted us. Way to run a business! The tickets were SO expensive and there is no excuse as to why they not only didn’t show up but then to never contact us with an explanation?!? Do not book this tour, it is very overpriced and they might not even show up! Go with any Bulldog Tour because they do show up!

Left Holding an Empty Spectral Bag
I truly dislike leaving negative reviews. I do so here only as a caveat emptor alert for future consumers and as sage advice for an apparently novice business. My daughters and I are avid hobbyist ghost hunters. We abhor the boring "walk & talk" history lessons and enjoy seeking out these unique guided and interactive hunts. Knowing the history and hot spots is important. We booked weeks in advance and drove from Florida and North Carolina for this experience. We arrived at the meetup spot fifteen minutes early at 8:45 PM on the arranged date. We triple checked the meetup address as the restaurant staff had no knowledge of any tour meeting there. We waited until 9:15 PM then tried calling the tour's phone number which went straight to voicemail. We tried the site's Chat feature and eventually received an answer. This person confirmed that we were at the right location and apparently looked into our missing guide but offered no explanation, apology, or resolution. At around 9:35 PM we informed the Chat operator that we were severely disappointed by the less-than-professional response to our inquiries and told her to cancel the tour. We requested and promptly received a full refund to their credit, but this does not begin to cover the missed and highly anticipated experience. Then, aside from the confused interaction via Chat, no one from Charleston Paranormal has reached out to explain, apologize, or offer any form of compensation. My daughters and I are all sole operator business owners and found that complete lack of customer service beyond unsatisfactory. We understand that problems sometimes crop up but failing to own the problem and alert paid and committed clients to a delay, a sick or injured guide, or offering some form of sincere explanation and apology is an inexcusably poor business practice. We hope this will be a learning lesson for them.

Guide never showed up!
My family and I were so excited about this experience. We showed up on time to the meeting spot and waited almost 45 min before leaving because our guide never showed. Tried to contact the host, calling went straight to voicemail the whole time, no communication, nothing!! I’m In the process of getting my refund for this very expensive ghost hunt and a night wasted on our trip which was very disappointing. Don’t waste your money on this. We did a couple other tours over the weekend with Bulldog Tours that were amazing and the guide actually showed up.

Why this scores 43
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Charleston.
How much does Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $179 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Charleston usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Charleston is not rushed.
Is Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Charleston, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Charleston can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Charleston and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Charleston Paranormal REAL Ghost Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Charleston within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Charleston?
+
Charleston's best experiences are small: house museum tours with an architectural historian, Gullah heritage walks, harbour sails at sunset and Lowcountry food crawls through the market district. Plantation day trips vary enormously in how honestly they handle the history, and our ranking factors that in directly. On Outty we rank every Charleston experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historic Charleston Guided Sightseeing Walking Tour, Charleston historical walking tour with a Professor of History at The Citadel, Charleston Eco Boat Cruise with stop at Morris Island Lighthouse. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Charleston?
+
March to May and September to November, the two mild shoulder windows. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Charleston?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
