I offer great stories and good times! What makes this tour unique is that I can promise that you will be getting me, Adam Moore, as your tour guide. With some of the other larger tour companies you never know who your guide could be. When you book this tour you can be reassured that I will be your guide. This makes sure that you will be getting a licensed and engaging tour guide here in Charleston. In addition to that, most tours in Charleston will take out 20 people on a tour. I keep my tours smaller and max out at 14-15 people. By having smaller groups it allows my guests to have a more personalized and unique experience.

Great Ghost Tour!
Adam is a historian and even in his ghost tour it shows. We were looking for a tour that would be informative and entertaining without being gimmicky and we found it.
Response from the operator: Thanks Megan, I never what to be gimmicky or hockey so that is a huge compliment. I am indeed a historian and studied history at USC and give history tours during the day. When there are times we are waiting for a light to cross the street I can't help myself but drop some random history knowledge :)

Charleston's Dark and Creepy History
We had a great time our our dark history tour. We obviously learned about some of the famous ghosts and dark history of Charleston, but also learned some just general history tidbits about the city as well. The tour wasn't overly scary, so it would be fine for kids and adults. The photos of the jail and Boo Hag story at the end were definitely creepy though. Maybe plan to stay up for a bit after the tour and not (try to) go right to sleep after the tour.
Response from the operator: Haha, you gotta stay up late to make sure that boo hag doesn't get you! I am glad y'all enjoyed the tour and I appreciate you taking the time to write a detailed review. I've always said that Charleston's actual dark history is some of the scariest stuff around, but I am glad y'all enjoyed the ghost photos and stories as well.

Happy Repeat Customer
This was my second time booking this tour with Adam, and it was just as enjoyable as the first! The content of the ghost tour is great, but he's a historian, too, so you can ask bonus questions about Charleston.
Response from the operator: That's so awesome you came back for another tour, thank you 👻. Y'all had some good questions and I like questions because as a historian I love talking history.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Adam, he was very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about Charleston’s history. We would highly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Thanks Gary, it was so nice to hang out with you and Mary Lou while you were in town. Y'all also took my History too and I appreciate the support of my small business 😎

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Charleston.
How much does Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Charleston usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Charleston is not rushed.
Is Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 357 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Charleston, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam?
+
Around 125 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Charleston can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Charleston and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Charleston within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Charleston?
+
Charleston's best experiences are small: house museum tours with an architectural historian, Gullah heritage walks, harbour sails at sunset and Lowcountry food crawls through the market district. Plantation day trips vary enormously in how honestly they handle the history, and our ranking factors that in directly. On Outty we rank every Charleston experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Charleston historical walking tour with a Professor of History at The Citadel, Historic Charleston Guided Sightseeing Walking Tour, Hidden Alleyways and Historic Sites Small-Group Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Charleston?
+
March to May and September to November, the two mild shoulder windows. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Charleston?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Charleston Dark History & Ghost Tour with Adam?
+
