An executed emperor, an empress who went mad, and a dictator who ruled thirty years from the next room. Everything in the same house. Inside, you will tour the private rooms of Maximiliano of Habsburg and Carlota, who lived here between 1864 and 1867. The avenue you see below, today Paseo de la Reforma, was laid out so that Carlota could see her husband come down into the city. All of that, on a hill that the Mexica already climbed when Tenochtitlan was an island. How do you go through it. Your entry is included. A certified guide accompanies you for two hours, telling you exactly what happened where you are standing—not the plaque version, the complete one. We go in groups of a maximum of 15 people, so you can ask whatever comes to mind and you have extra time for your photos on the terraces, with the Chapultepec Forest and Paseo de la Reforma entirely in the background.

Great for history and architecture lovers

Leonor was a fantastic guide and made the tour very engaging and informative. Coordination ahead of the tour was prompt and meeting up was super easy. This was a great tour to cap off my visit, would definitely recommend! Going earlier in the day was a good move, the crowds were much bigger after noon.

Daniel was fantastic. He responded all our questions with a lot of enthusiasm. He knows a lot about Mexico history. It was by far one of the best guides.

    Chapultepec Castle

Vale R. is an outstanding guide—patient, warm, and enthusiastic. Despite getting lost after our drop-off, she helped us find our meeting place. Her deep knowledge of Chapultepec Castle and the stunning balcony views were impressive, as were the breathtaking stained-glass hallways. ¡Muchas gracias, Vale, por compartir la hermosa historia de los jardines y el castillo! Todo fue impresionante.

Response from the operator: Guys, I’m truly happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Chapultepec Castle. 😊 Thank you again from the heart for your kind words, your patience, and for the great energy you brought with you. It was a real pleasure guiding you!

Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included cost?

    +

Prices start at $61 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 153 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included?

    +

Around 54 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chapultepec Castle: guided tour + entrance included start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Teotihuacan 3 Pyramids Tour + Hotel Pick Up + Lunch at La Gruta, Historic Center Essentials: Mexico City Downtown Walking Tour, PREMIUM Frida Kahlo Museum and Xochimilco (Small Groups). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
