About this experience
This tour combines one of man's finest creations (the vintage car of your choosing) with one of natures most amazing visual offerings; Chapman's Peak Drive. Ever heard the saying "They don't make 'em like they used to!"? Well, when you take a seat in one of our vintage cars you'll really understand why. Beautiful chrome details, gorgeous lines, the smell of old leather and a purring motor will remind you of a different era, an era when cars were way cooler. Then there's Chapman's Peak Drive; the most beautiful coastal road in Cape Town, and arguably, the world. The road runs along a winding cliff-side which offers spectacular views of the bay and ocean below. To help really soak in these views, we'll stop-off and enjoy some complimentary wine and dippers. We recommend taking this tour around the "Golden hour", that is, just before sunset when the lighting makes things look their best. Still here? Well why haven't you booked yet?! Classic trip!
Just back from a fantastic and memorable tour in a 1961Chevrolet Impala classic soft top car to Chapman’s Peak Drive. The driver was great and being in such a car made it really special. Once you got used to not having any seatbelts it was a great drive with the most fantastic scenery!
Response from the operator: Thrilled that you enjoyed the tour Susan - indeed a special car and breathtaking scenery.

Incredible scenic drive through Chapmans peak
What an amazing drive! David was friendly, professional and really took care of us the whole afternoon. Driving through Chapmans peak in a classic car is the best way to experience the beautiful views. The classic car ride made the memorable experience even more special. A moment we will remember for a life time. The picnic at the end was wonderful too.
Response from the operator: We are thrilled you had such a great experience Mitch and we really appreciate that you took the time to leave us a review :)

An awesome experience
This tour was incredible. My guide Eustace was the best. He pointed out the most interesting sights along the drive, and was extremely knowledgeable about Cape Town and its history. He also made the day very special by incorporating South African specific items into the included picnic. The highlight of course, was the incredible Chapman’s Peak view and his awesome car. Overall, the day was one of the best times I had while visiting South Africa.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - its greatly appreciated.

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car cost?
+
Prices start at $280 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chapman's Peak Cruise in a Vintage Car start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Cape Town Airport Private Transfer, Ocean Wildlife Encounter in Cape Town. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
