Market tour cooking class in Catania

Wonderful hosts, walking tour to market, tons info about the whole city. Cooking was super fun, great recipes I bet I’ll make at home. Amazing wonderful experience, couldn’t have been better.

    Bellissimo

So so worth it! Amazing experience to be brought into Graziella‘a home and to meet her family! We shared many laughs and were very well looked after. We made a Sicilian pesto with tagliatelle and it was delicious 😋 And of course a very tasty tiramisu!

Like spending and afternoon at your grandmothers!

So much more than I expected. We met our Guide Antonella in a Piazza just a one minute walk to the open market. As she gave us a tour of the market she bought the few items we'd be having as appetizers. I thought we'd be going to a central spot used by the tour to do the cooking but to my surprise she brought us to her home - and what a beautiful home it was. We sat for a while and sampled some homemade almond milk and shared with her a little of our travel experiences and ancestry. Then, sitting at her dining room table, she talked each of us through the process of making pasta dough. As we did this she shared some of her family history as she grew up in this beautiful apartment. While the dough sat, we moved to the kitchen where we all helped prepare the appetizers, olives, salami and an interesting mix of Pepato Cheese, scallions and olive oil. Then back to the dining room table as we learned how to make the pasta we'd be having for supper from the dough we just made. Eventually, we shared a delicious meal and couldn't wait to try our new found skills at home. I think my wife summed up the experience best when she said "it was like having an afternoon at my grandmothers house." Thank you Antonella for sharing with us your knowledge, family history and love of cooking.

Is Cesarine: Small Group Market Tour & Cooking Class in Catania worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Catania, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Cesarine: Small Group Market Tour & Cooking Class in Catania?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Catania and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Catania?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Catania?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Catania?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
