    Don’t miss this

Willy “Wonka” and his crew were so much fun. The live saxophone- especially as the sun set- was amazing. The biggest surprise was that Isla Mujeres is a vibrant, fun community on the evenings. We had a great time. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us. We are thrilled to hear that you had such a great time and that Willy “Wonka” and his crew made the trip so fun and memorable. The moment you mentioned—the live saxophone performance during sunset—is truly one of the most magical parts of the experience. Watching the sun go down while enjoying great music and the beautiful Caribbean atmosphere creates a very special memory for many of our guests. We’re also delighted that you enjoyed discovering the vibrant evening atmosphere of Isla Mujeres. The island’s charm, energy, and welcoming community make it a fantastic place to explore and celebrate after a beautiful day on the water. Thank you for your kind recommendation. Feedback like yours helps other travelers discover the unique atmosphere, great music, and unforgettable moments they can expect when joining this experience. We hope to welcome you on board again soon for another incredible sunset adventure.

Terrible waste of time and money.

This excursion was terrible. It left late and was supposed to go to Isla Mujeres for shopping and then to Playa Norte for the sunset. The boat headed all the way to the south end of the island and then made a stop in the choppy ocean water way off shore for anyone who wanted to swim. As we were sitting there waiting to leave the sun was setting. By the time we got to town we had barely any time to shop and even some of the shops were closing. I did not like being there after dark. After that we headed back to the pick up location. Never made it to Playa Norte. On the boat there was a very loud saxophone player. You couldn't even talk to the person sitting next to you. Our snack was homemade sandwiches which we did not eat. Basically we had a boat ride. What a waste of time and money. Not as advertised at all.

Fun experience, but description was not clear on what to expect. Recommended if you enjoy a party cruise atmosphere. Isla Mujeres is a great little island and cannot wait to visit in more depth on our next visit.

Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun cost?

    +

Prices start at $62 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Catamaran Sunset Cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
