    More than Flying Fish

Andy and Richard were fantastic! We saw flying fish, sea lions, a lobster, a bat ray, and stargazed, along with seeing many other kinds of wildlife. The experience was in the glass bottom boat, which gave us the chance to see more from below while looking out the windows and the back deck for the wildlife. The scenery at night is absolutely stunning!

    Awesome

Saw a deer, numerous flying fish, lots of sea lions, pelicans and a turtle. This was a fun experience and I highly recommend. Worth every cent. Andy and Richard were fantastic.

    Catalina Island Nighttime Fun!!

We’re just got off the boat, and I had to write this review. Captain Andy and Richard were great. They were friendly and quick to point out things to look for and where to look. . When we initially got onto the boat (Sea View with Catalina Adventure Tours), we were in the very front where there weren’t really open windows. We were told that we could go stand on the back of the boat near Captain Andy, which we did. At first, we only saw very little fish jumping, some pelicans, and a couple of seagulls but Captain Andy said we will find the seal lions and the flying fish, and that we did. It was great! My whole family enjoyed all of it…..the boat ride, all the stars, the fresh night air, the sea lions swimming alongside the boat chasing the fish, and of course, the flying fish. Captain Andy knew exactly where to go along the Catalina coastline, and the three sea lions that we saw just did their thing, which provided us with a great show. I had no idea sea lions could swim so fast. We will definitely do this tour again. I’d highly recommend going with Captain Andy and Richard on Sea View, Catalina Adventure Tours)!!

Fun and different night cruise on Catalina

We had a great evening, with many many sea lions, pelicans and flying fish sighted very close to the boat. several fish flew even into the boat to get away from the sea Lions. It was an hour long cruise, with 15-20 people, to nearby lovers cove, and pretty smooth water. The boat was comfortable and did not feel crowded. The captain made sure we all had water views to watch the action, moving the boat continually to the best spots. The boat lights made it easy to sea the animals in the water beside the boat, even when moving around.

    Extremely Disappointing; very poor experience.

Booked reservation; 2x adult tickets for 9:35pm flying fish tour. Received digital tickets and email confirmation of 9:35pm tour, arrived 15 minutes early as instructed and no sign of any tour occurring. Received zero heads up that the 9:35pm tour was cancelled, was never informed of booking being changed to different time or cancelled. App and website didn’t interface well together, links from email didn’t load correctly and weren’t user friendly whatsoever. Horrible experience booking with this 3rd Party agency. Extremely disappointing, $120 gone and unsure if refund will be honored due to the tour website completely dropping the ball.

Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Catalina Island.

How much does Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise cost?

    +

Prices start at $61 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Catalina Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise take?

    +

Plan for about 0.9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Catalina Island is not rushed.

Is Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Catalina Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Catalina Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Catalina Island and add a light layer if any part of the 0.9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Catalina Nighttime Flying Fish and Undersea Adventure Cruise start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Catalina Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Catalina Island?

    +

Catalina Island packages ferry transfers with glass-bottom boats, submarine and snorkel tours in Lover's Cove, zip lining, Avalon golf-cart tours and inland bison safaris. On Outty we rank every Catalina Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Catalina Food Tour, Catalina Island Private Guided Golf Cart Tour of Avalon, Haunted Catalina Walking Ghost Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Catalina Island?

    +

May to October, with the calmest crossings in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Catalina Island?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
