Gustavo is competent and knows everything about Cartagena; he took his time to take us thru Getsemani and has a good sense of humour as well. I enjoyed this tour with the other tourists and I'd definitely recommend it, cheers!

Mixed feelings
The tour started fairly well, with an interesting description of the Cartagena and Colombian history, an engaging guide and a nice group. We enjoyed this first part. However, around midway through we stopped in an emerald shop where we were explained the emerald trade and extraction process (interesting, too) but we stayed there for nearly 30-45 mins as some group members wanted to buy some emeralds. That kind of finished the tour, as the dynamic and mood were lost. We then flew through the remaining of the tour at Gethsemane, with some light explanations about the neighbourhood, but by then the engagement was to some extent lost. We later noticed that most tours have a stop in emerald shops. We leave with you to decide how interested you are on this, and if it is worth joining a tour where this is a significant part of the visit. I suggest you ask first before deciding what tour to join in.
