NO SHOW!

I booked this tour and the operator NEVER SHOWED UP! I contacted Viator customer service, who initiated a refund, but it has now been over 2 weeks and I still have not received any update or any refund. Do not take this tour and the company cannot be bothered to contact Viator or customers to cancel or show up. Waste of $400.00. I will be contacting Viator to ENSURE I receive my refund!

One of a kind night!

I had never had an experience like this before. I have been on pub crawls previously, but the cocktail tasting tour in Cartagena through TIC was very unique. Each place we went to had very distinct choices and brought something very special to the tour. The first was a rooftop bar, where we got to choose from a variety of specialty cocktails. The second location, called AlQuimico, was really great; we were able to customize and create our very own cocktails from a variety of in-house infused rums. The bartender there was very nice, sweet, and knowledgable, providing us with helpful tips and suggestions in our creation process. The last place, Bonche, we had our nightcap - which was an inhouse special cocktail. All in all, this was a memorable experience. Each place brought something unique and memorable; our guide was helpful and kind. Our guide was knowledgeable and very helpful to us, and has worked with American tourists for a long time. I definitely recommend this amazing tour through This Is Cartagena, it's definitely worth the money!!

Fun way to get a taste of Cartagena

Cartagena is a very cool city but a bit intimidating on first glance. Certainly worthwhile doing a tour or two to get your bearings and make sure that you see the city for what its worth. As it is often too hot to tour during the day, the cocktail tour is a great way to see part of the city. As wine, for reasons I still can't figure out, is insanely expensive in Cartagena, cocktails are a big part of their culture. As for the Cocktail tour, I was expecting a kitschy tour packed with tourists but instead we received an intimate introduction to Cartagenian culture by a guide whose first language was english ( a very rare commodity). She explained local culture from a unique perspective and gave us the run down of what we need to try and do. The tour itself included cocktails on a beautiful rooftop, an introduction to Colombian fruits through a sampler of infused rums. The opportunity to make a drink behind the counter of what would be one of our favorite bars, and a brief visit to Getsemani outside the walls of the city.

Cartagena Cocktail Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.

How much does Cartagena Cocktail Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cartagena Cocktail Tour take?

+

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.

Is Cartagena Cocktail Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cartagena Cocktail Tour?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Cartagena Cocktail Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Cartagena Cocktail Tour?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cartagena Cocktail Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cartagena?

+

On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cartagena Antigua & Barrio Getsemani group with audio system, Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cartagena?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cartagena?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
