Rio Samba School: Behind-the-Scenes tour
This excursion was proved as an optional tour on our Viking cruise. Having been to the Carnoval Parade in 2017, we were very interested in knowing more about how the schools produce such an unbelievable product. This tour provided just what it promised and was a highlight of our Rio de Janiero visit. If you have already seen the other major attractions, this is definitely worth your time. And if you ever have the opportunity to see the Parade, don't pass it up!

Wonderful samba de Rio show!
The samba show is very nice. However the service offered in this deal is rather useless. It is better and cheaper to take a taxi (or use Huber), you will not have to drive around in a minivan fron hotel to hotel. At the Salgueiro Quadra's entrance, buy your own ticket, about 10 USD. Don't worry if you did not book a table, anyhow you will walk and dance the all night. When the show starts everybody is standing close to the dance floor. Take again a taxi when you wish to go back to your hotel. The area in front of the Salgueiro Quadra's entrance looks fairly safe.
Response from the operator: Dear Enzo B, Thank you for your feedback! We are glad you enjoyed the tour. The transportation to and via public transportation or cab or Uber might be cheaper but they are not the same experience as being led by a guide and be part of a Group of different and exciting people sharing that moment and discovering that place together. And the Table might be a very great asset if you don't want be standing and dancing the whole time. which might be the case for some people. Thanks, best regards, Pedro Malta on behalf of Diogo M

How far in advance should I book Carnaval Experience Ticket - Behind the Scenes?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rio de Janeiro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

+
On Outty we rank every Rio de Janeiro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pedra da Gávea hike, your best experience in Rio, Rio's Full Day: Selarón Steps, Christ & Sugarloaf – Tickets & Lunch Included, Rio: Tijuca Rainforest Hike, Wildlife, Waterfalls & Caves. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
