What you'll see and do
White Grotta
During the tour of the island by boat you will see the wonderful White Grotto that extends for 30 meters and takes its name from the color of its rocks: an extraordinary pure white. Inside the waters form two small lakes communicating through an artificial channel carved into the rock. In Roman times it seems to have been used as a shelter for boats, but if you look carefully you will notice that the white walls show some signs of the passage of man: in the seventeenth century the population took refuge in this cave to hide from pirate attacks! The time is calculated also considering the time of arrival.

Grotta Verde
During the boat tour of the island you will see the wonderful Green Grotto which owes its name to the coloring of its waters. The light penetrates through the entrance, reflecting on the seabed and paints the waves of the sea emerald green. This inlet was used by Turkish corsairs as an outpost to ambush passing boats and plunder them. There are two openings: the western one which is 4 meters below sea level and the eastern one located on the surface. The opening of the Green Grotto in Capri is 7 meters high. You can swim in if the sea is calm! Inside, the walls are irregular and covered with sedimentary rocks, the dolomites, the oldest in Capri. The green of the water can vary in intensity depending on the weather conditions and the time of day. The time is calculated also considering the time of arrival.
45 minutes here
Punta Carena Lighthouse
During the tour of the island you will be able to admire the famous Punta Carena Lighthouse, the second largest in Italy for lighting power, as well as being one of the oldest: the first time it was lit in 1867! The time is calculated also considering the time of arrival.

Wonderful trip
What an amazing day! Alessandro was a superb skipper. He took excellent care of us and showed us some wonderful sights on the trip. None of us wanted to go to the Blue Grotto so he made sure we had a super swim stop and extra time in Capri. Communication was excellent and it was so reassuring to have his number to message when we were ready to be collected. We had one hiccup when my other half left his sunglasses in the transfer minibus on the journey home. All was sorted with a quick message to Alessandro who messaged the driver then returned the glasses and took to the office ready for our TUI rep to collect. Highly recommend

Full day Boat trip from Capri. 5++++++++++++++++++
We did an 8 hour tour of the coast from Capri with a lunch to conka del sogno. We had an absolutely amazing experience. Once again Mario did a phenomenal job of setting everything up to perfection. The captain and his crew member (Tony and Tony) were so helpful and accommodating, surpassing any expectations. The whole experience was 5 stars all the way. Would highly recommend.

Amazing experience
Mario and Tony were fantastic guides! Very friendly and funny. This tour felt natural like we were visiting family for the day, but on a much nicer boat and in a much more beautiful scene. 10/10 best day on our whole trip!

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Capri Island shared boat tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sorrento.
How much does Capri Island shared boat tour cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sorrento usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Capri Island shared boat tour take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sorrento is not rushed.
Is Capri Island shared boat tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Capri Island shared boat tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Capri Island shared boat tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Capri Island shared boat tour?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sorrento can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Capri Island shared boat tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sorrento within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sorrento?
+
On Outty we rank every Sorrento experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pizza School with Wine and Limoncello Tasting in a Local Farm, Private Amalfi Coast Day Tour from Sorrento or Naples, Sorrento Farm and Food Experience including Olive Oil, Limoncello, Wine tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sorrento?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sorrento?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
