Worth going if you have plenty of time in Cappadocia
We joined the tour in March when it was unexpectedly snowing heavily. The driver picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Uchisar for lunch first. The restaurant served tasty lunch with a panoramic view. Because of the bad weather, he advised us to go to the salt lake the next day. He drove us back to hotel after lunch. The next day the weather turned out pretty nice. We were picked up again, had lunch at Uchisar (this time we paid for it) and headed to the salt lake. It was a two-hour drive, but the view along the route was nice. The start of the lake was dried up, we needed to walk a bit to reach the water. The lake was not pink at all, but we managed to take some good photos at the lake. We stayed there for about an hour. The driver was polite and drove safely, though he almost didn’t talk to us (maybe he wasn’t good at English). Besides, we thought we would join a sunset tour, but we were informed to be picked up at noon. We ended up arriving the lake at about 3:45 pm. It might have been better if the starting time was later. Overall, it was worth going if you haven’t been to a salt lake before.

Not Great
If you’ve never seen a salt lake before, this would be very cool. We went because it said it glows pink in the afternoon, but it was very faint and not like the pictures. It’s a really long drive, and we were scared the whole time because our driver was texting or reading on his phone. Sometimes he even veered into the other lanes. It was not safe at all! I don’t even know his name because he never introduced himself, and barely talked at all. I’m sure part of this is because of a language barrier, but you can at least say hi and give your name. At the end, he jumped out of the car without a word, and another man jumped in to drive us to our hotel. We had no idea what was happening.

Amazing views and organisation!
The salt lake tour started with lunch at their restaurant which we were picked up from goreme and ate in uchisar. The view of the restaurant was gorgeous as it overlooks the hills and mountains. The food was also very fresh and tasty! The drive to salt lake took 2 hours 1 way and was in a very comfortable vehicle and it was well worth it as the salt lake is pretty and we got good photos! We stayed 1 hour there and that was more than enough to walk in the salt lake (make sure to bring wet shoes/sliders). Olenda travel took very good care of us! Because of this I booked camel tour from them too and that was also great experience. I would recommend them for all your activities in cappadocia.
Response from the operator: Thanks alot for your kind words. we would be happy to host you again in Cappadocia.

Lake was in drought
Due to Mother Nature there was a drought, which lead to me walking in mud for 20 minutes shoes were muddy and feet. Tour guide has a water bottle and we stopped at gas station to spray my legs. In my opinion if it is drought season there should not be a tour available to purchase. There was little lake, no pink water and the area looked really bad. I also had to pay an extra $40 for tour because I was the only one going. The tour guide told me before leaving that he is not sure if it will turn color to pink because it is due to Mother Nature and your luck. I’m very sad that I lost $145 for a basic tour of a lake that was not special. I wish I could have my money back. The tour guide was very nice, funny and had a lot of knowledge about the area. He drives very safe and I enjoyed his company. He has an amazing personality and he picked me up from fat boys restaurant. He offered me food and drinks but I already ate beforehand. The actual lake should not be recommended unless people can see the pink lake. A lot of people traveling from far away want to see it.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Goreme.
How much does Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $71 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Goreme usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Goreme is not rushed.
Is Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Goreme, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Goreme can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Goreme and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cappadocia salt lake tour private with lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Goreme within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Goreme?
+
On Outty we rank every Goreme experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Red (North) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and tickets, Green (South) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and ticket, Cappadocia Green Tour - Classic Route (Popular). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Goreme?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Goreme?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
